I want to put a bit of Beastmodes post in too about Tanah and Origin but I'm not clever enough
Anyway.
Why do posters think that Origin selection for our players is a good thing? I don't understand. So many forum members seem to think its a good thing. And a good few of these are "senior" or knowledgeable members so I'm picking it must be a good thing.
Can someone please explain to me? Genuine question

For mine we lose some of our best players for 2 or 3 rounds. When we need them ourselves
We risk them coming back broken or tired
It raises their profile and their worth. So they become targets for other clubs recruitment and cost us more to keep.
And it disrupts our systems.
All for a series that has no relevance outside 2 Aussie states. Origin used to be a good thing for us because apart from Jacob Lillyman or Brent Tate or Barney we never lost players. Now we could lose our organiser, our metre eater, and if they go on incumbents one of our captains

Can someone please explain?

And back on the team list.
No changes to last game apart from Egan getting a rest if he needs it

Because they get to train and learn in camp with the elite coaches and players and steal ideas and skills from them.

Like IPL cricket our players learn new deliveries or batting techniques and apply it back in the national team

I wish they could do the team list properly and C both captains if there are actually co captains. Just a hit and miss.

If all was well in terms of the announcement that the situation is for 2027 you would expect the player to turn out in cup and sort out his next contract on his own time (his agents time actually).

Makes it seem likely Metcalf has had a full blown dummy spit and we won't see him again this season in a Warriors jersey.
