Speculation on the LU site mentioned there was a rumour of Halasima arriving back late the night before game day. No idea if there’s any truth to it, or Vaimauga breaking any protocols? JFH said in his jersey presentation, I’ve got your back if you’ve got mine. I hope the team can respond because losses become finger pointing and that becomes poor harmony in the squad

Make alot more sense than Webby having a Kidwell moment

Where could he have even been as he’s under 21?

If half of this is true, we’re in serious trouble
Yeah, we are. I have now heard about the Agar incident, coaches on the piss, that Leka was out reasonably late the night before the game (I know social media can be full of shit) by just being on here or on facebook. I don't listen to pods (apart from Levels) although I see they have a section on Warriors culture which I will listen to this morning.

Let's get it right - the coaches should not be drinking during the week of an NRL game, at least not in public. It's a shithouse look. I am a teacher, and I don't drink during the week because it disrupts my sleep, and doesn't allow me to do my best thinking.

Anyone reckon Ivan's assistants were out on the strip?

The trouble is, we have an owner who absolutely loves getting on the piss, and being seen with people who are names in the game and other industries. So his clear guidelines are, I love a beer, so you're allowed to, too. He's got his daughter there in some role in the side, his son in law is the media guy (albeit he's very good at what he does), he's happy clapping with mates, it's not an environment where there's significant accountability. Which has always been the issue with the Warriors

Yeah good point. This is where I saw it

I am going to correct that. What do most of us think of Webster bench use when he has been our head coach. One of the most common things is that he is bad at his use of the bench. Not sure why people need to try and find theories as to why he was so bad at something he is bad at.

Because use of a bench isn’t exactly rocket science. My 10 year old could do a better job. It makes no sense. Webby is smarter than my 10 year old so I assume there’s something we don’t know about.

So has Webster bench use been good from what you can see? I suspect he has a preconceived idea of how he wants to use the bench and cannot shake that when the game goes against him.

You’re peaching to the choir
I was vocal last year about his absurd bench use. Especially wasting a spot..

rd 1 he’s gone over and beyond absurd so I assume there’s something more to it 🙏 if not, he’s fucked (in the most polite way possible)

I like Niukore and he stops teams kicking sand in our face. No one wants to mess with him.
I liked it when he came off the bench & ran with speed. I used to think that Webster had the balance right when we had a lot of speed & energy coming onto the field from the bench: walker, jazz & Niukore. We obviously had tohu, AFB & Barnett starting, which help a lot

We seem to be the club stacked with so much experience both in first grade and reserves so why do we suck so much???

Experience and seniority doesn't equal better.

E.g Critta at 30 games was a better player than every 100+ game centre in the league. Haas at 22 was better than most of the 200 game props.

Panthers only had five 100 game players in that first GF win and no one over 28.

Someone send this to Webby 👍
Surely he knows? He was helping coach that team.
It makes me hope that there is a method behind the madness with these decisions and that we are the dumb ones. Then when it all clicks - boom.
Anyway we just need to stick for a few years, no point changing to start again and nobody out there that screams get me in and it will be fixed.

The biggest mistake is not having a quality seasoned assistant to help Webby, a guy who can also play bad cop and dunk on senior players on the spot. He looks too nice and young and players might not take him seriously once results dont go our way, especially with that bench use and pet players lol

Also remember how weak Ian Foster was with the ABs until they fired his assistants and brought in gun coaches, and they ended up almost winning the world cup. This is probably what we need this year

We all value your opinion @mt.wellington
Rather than evaluating his strengths and weaknesses right now which everyone has done in the last 20 pages - can you share your forecast or projection instead? Will he have an epiphany and wake up to be a good coach and will develop into the great coach we need.
"Does he have it?"
And what's your valued option? Do you have it?

Yea I don't get all the analysis of how it could go the way it did.

Literally just the latest of many examples of shithouse selection and bench rotation.
