Politics đꤎ Donald Trump

I don't think being on the left or right should affect how one feels about someone getting murdered in such a sick way? Or what Trump thinks about it? I also think it's tragic that a young man was radicalised and his life is now wasted after murdering KIRK. Our world is getting sicker, more divided and the best way to help situations like this is to have no different feelings re tragic stuff that happens to people on the left or right. If we do, it shows that we are more than likely partially radicalised. There are forces at work that want the world divided, it is easier to control via reactionary forces. We have to resist and disagree with views and ideas but show respect toward each other, and care for the rights and well being of people on both sides. Otherwise we are just pawns, when the masses is where the power really resides. I think his death is tragic, but also that kid who was radicalised and will either be killed or spend the rest of his life in prison.

Here's my view:
There's an argument that we should all gather together to be The One, forget all our differences, to go for the Gold Diamond Sapphire Apple At The Top Of The Tree.
Which would be fine, if it was the only Apple On The Tree. But it's not. There's - a few branches down - A Purple Diamond Apple that benefits Group C of The One. And, here's the kicker, that Gold, Diamond, Sapphire Apple? Group C of The One don't think that's actually gettable and also, actually it's going to benefit Group A (white, male, heterosexual, ablebodied, wealthy etc cliche) of The One more, who Group C really don't like that much anyhow, so why shouldn't they grab that Purple Diamond Apple and screw everybody else, we fine!?

Not sure I like identity politics or not, everybody breaking up into smaller groups, being a member of a minority group myself, but I understand why it might be attractive.

I think it’s healthy for society to have a diversity of worldviews, and the competition between them is actually what drives progress. If everyone thought the same way, society would stagnate.

Even when we dislike certain views I would defend the right for people to hold and express them. History shows that ideas once considered extreme have shaped the world we live in today. Eg, universal education, the 40-hour work week, and environmental protections were once radical left initiatives, while ideas like nation states, market-based capitalism, and strict immigration controls originated from the right.

The real challenge seems to be our growing inability to tolerate perspectives different from our own. The right often emphasizes personal responsibility, which can sometimes manifest in lone wolf type violence — “solving a problem themselves.” The left, by contrast, tends to channel outrage communally, through protests and strikes.

Ultimately, there’s little difference between the intolerance and hostility that fuels a radicalized protester and that which motivates a political assassin — the methods differ, but the mindset of hate is much the same.

They say with freedom comes responsibility; by the same thinking we need more diversity but it must come with tolerance.
