For those of us who are thick break down what he is saying and point out which of the statements are actually true "in every other Western democracy"

From what I can tell
  • Election day is singular
  • Our pecentage of absentee ballots is much lower. NZ 20%, Aus is fkd cos of pre vote in person but 10% US 46%
  • Voter ID
  • High registrations / mandatory
  • US has eased most restrictions continuallly for >20years

Surely the biggest part of a secure election is controlling the outside interference, like Russia or China? There seems to be a push to demonise the opposing side rather than the outside interference
Not sure it is the biggest part. Making sure internal interference and stuff like multiple voting, secure ballots and that kind of thing. Accusing the opposition is a two way street. If your internal stuff is fool proof it becomes irrelevant.

There’s only one side that’s concerned of an illegal election, and it only surfaced since the previous election because the nominee chose not to, and still chooses not to accept the result. All other elections have been accepted as the outcome. I can recall such a close election between Bush and Gore that the democrats accepted

There has been allegations of election interference since 2000. And they didnt accept it, they challenged it in the Supreme Court. Then lets not forget 2008, 2012, and 2016

Enlighten us please

2000 was nothing to do with election interference - it was all to do with how to count votes in Florida and once the SC (Conservative majority) ruled Gore immediately accepted the result

2008, 2012, 2016 - what were the allegations there

What Happened to the Democrats Who Never Accepted Bush’s Election

Where in your early post did you mention 2004

The suggestion that the 2004 election was rigged was as a result of reseach by an academic

STEVEN F. FREEMAN has a PhD in Organization Studies from MIT’s Sloan School of Management and is the author of Was the 2004 Presidential Election Stolen?: Exit Polls, Election Fraud, and the Official Count. He is a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Organizational Dynamics, where he teaches research methods and survey design. Freeman has received four national awards for best research paper of the year—on four different topics in three different fields.

As for the Democratic Party

For most of the world, the uncertainty didn’t last. Kerry conceded the next day, making a cordial call to Bush, after concluding that a recount in Ohio wouldn’t change the outcome of the race.
