How is Liz Truss even relevant? She’s a joke being their shortest serving pm. There seems to be a group showing themselves involving Musk, Milei, Bannon, Farrage, Truss and they’re obvious ones but there will be many more like Weidel who are beginning to show themselves. All far right is what’s in common and the salutes shows their ideology. White supremacy is back in a big way, I wonder if an Arian race is still the goal?

Nobody has properly evaluated if the people being dismissed are doing a good or a bad job though. It’s completely indiscriminate and designed to grab headlines. Idiots are falling for it though

Maybe not indiscriminate if you are a black leader of the armed forces or a female head of the navy

I was talking to a public servant yesterdays whose job is to manage contractors to a govt department.

Their department has had pressure put on them to increase performance and get more out of the contractors for less. It’s not going well and he fears for his job. The contractors are already claiming they are underpaid and refusing to change threatening to simply stop providing services to this department.

Digging deeper the contractors have been tied in red tape with ‘best practice’ standards applied to them - layers of red tape, paperwork, compliance costs, H&S requirements, etc so that they spend more time doing compliance for the job than the actual job. They are so inefficient through govt requirements they are barely profitable despite international comparisons suggesting they are over paid.

The guys tearing his hair out because a blanket ‘improve efficiencies’ doesn’t fix the systematic problems causing NZ to be excessively expensive and unproductive.

The govt is targeting low hanging fruit but NZs first world ‘best practice’ has a hand break like opportunity cost that an economy build off primary produce can’t sustain.
