Clearly not. There is a shortfall that no party is fully addressingWe have paid, in taxes.
NZ first and national are currently trading voters back and forth. I don’t see this changing much in a positive way for eitherWho knows what happens post election. If Winston doesn’t want it, it just won’t happen.
Winnie has an interesting choice after the election if he's in the "Kingmaker role" again. Hipkins said on Kerrie Woodham's show that he's considering means testing NZ Super while Luxon is talking about raising the age.View attachment 17268
Seems like this will be unpopular on top of national’s unpopularity. Credit for being transparent but I don’t think it’s going to be a vote winner and completely against Winston’s wishes I would imagine
You know as well as anyone that Winston will negotiate what’s best for Winston, but to go too far against his greypower base would be suicide. Many worldwide factors playing out too and the coalition have tied themselves to America whereas labour are actually still able to call out what most of us are thinking is absolutely unhingedWinnie has an interesting choice after the election if he's in the "Kingmaker role" again. Personally, I think Labour's approach will win more votes as theirs would only affect those with enough to get over whatever threshold they set while National's approach would affect everyone if the age of entitlement is increased. In other words, greed will win because, for most people, means testing won't affect them.... only the rich bustards.
Of course, Labour's way will go against the social contract currently in place..... people are happy to pay tax now to go to superannuants because, when they're entitled to it, those younger than them will pay for their super.
He's officially going on mine now too. What an absolute loon. Needs some serious help.Violent and emotional???

That sounds like Oz, where I came to the realisation that their super is essentially a tax you can’t get out of but everyone wins and it’s made the country a mile richer than us.well, those are both fair points, my preference would actually be user pays super. So no state funded super, and employer-matched KiwiSaver at whatever level is necessary to provide for the retirement people want to enjoy
No KiwiSaver withdrawals until you wish to retire (ie no withdrawals to buy a house etc)
But that’s just me. User pays.
Otherwise, super is just a state-administered Ponzi scheme
