As Damo mentioned, facts are a good idea. There's none in your commentI'd suggest you have contributed more tax dollars, taken far more risk and provided more employment for people than the guy making false claims about you.

I used to holiday frequently in Australia and would discuss with friends or family over there about costs of specific things and would notice how they would deal with things. Sometimes with a bit more flexibility.A good idea

It's been so poorly run in auckland for decades, unfortunately that's a big part of the problemI used to holiday frequently in Australia and would discuss with friends or family over there about costs of specific things and would notice how they would deal with things. One time petrol prices were rising. They pointed out how petrol would be different prices due to the time of day or the side of the road. The side of the round with everyone heading in to work is more expensive. Then it swaps in the evening. Not sure if that is happening this time or has in recent years. But it is different to here which is just increase, increase, increase.
Not traffic related. But there were complaints about movie theatres struggling due to piracy. In NZ we raised the prices so less people pay more. In Australia they were providing cheaper tickets aiming to fill the theatre. This is more an example of a different view to fix an issue.
Politicians and Councillors talk about wanting to encourage public transport use. More people may use naturally due to petrol costs. But doing something like making it free would encourage more people to use it. From there it is up to the transport companies to make sure they can handle the amount of passengers, buses run on time. Basically ensure the experience may encourage people to stick to it.

Tauranga tried free buses for under 18βs over COVID and canned it soon after over violence, antisocial behaviour and in the end the bus drivers refusing to stop at some stops and it got canned.I used to holiday frequently in Australia and would discuss with friends or family over there about costs of specific things and would notice how they would deal with things. Not in this threadIf you deal in facts rather than emotion it gets you a lot further.
Have to say I'm a big fan of public transport and around the world it seems to work OK in many countries. It's been so poorly run in auckland for decades, unfortunately that's a big part of the problem
It's the old buggers who rely on the buses who have to deal with dumb fucks on the bus I feel sorry for!Tauranga tried free buses for under 18βs over COVID and canned it soon after over violence, antisocial behaviour and in the end the bus drivers refusing to stop at some stops and it got canned.

Taurangaβs free bus fares restricted after bus stop violence
A spate of violence at bus stops in Tauranga has prompted the regional council to restrict free bus fares for under 18 year olds.www.rnz.co.nz
Good for you. I live in a pt black hole and I'm 15ks outGee can I call bs on AKL public tspt
As I said in another post if you live in a circle between GI Onehunga Mt Albert and the City itβs pretty good
I stayed in Green Lane for three days up to last Monday and took 22 public tspt bus train and ferry trips
I never waited for than five minutes at Green Lane station for a train north or south.
Bus s ran every 15 mins east west on Green lane Rd.
I used bus train airport to Green Lane easy
Caught Waiheke ferries - there was a glitch there had to wait 15 mins to get to surfdale by bus
So for that part of AKL PTis very good

Can't you accept your wrong and now look like an idiot.Itβs called respectful debate. Itβs only politics - nothing important like who starts at fullback next week!
At the end of the day I can agree to disagree with @Damo and head back to the Warriors threads where our views mostly align![]()
How are the supply lines doing in April and May and beyond?βFuel stocks have risen since the Governmentβs last update, with data showing New Zealand has over 50 daysβ worth of fuel remaining in each of the three major fuel types as of midnight last Wednesday.β
Costs are up but I donβt think weβre going to have chronic shortages that affect industry.
Great management by the govt and seems the panic and govt blaming was just the usual crisis over everything mob.
