Just on the IRAN/Oil situation. I have a friend, close to the top of the cogs in NZ. He advised me a couple of days ago that there is a full expectation this situation will get worse. Even if the war was to end tomorrow (Which is doesn't look likely) there is real hurt coming. And there may be other MAJOR factors still in play not yet known to the public. My understanding is that multiple funds are shutting the tap off immediately to charity and investment in NZ for quite the prolonged forecast period ....and for very good reason.

Take what I said with a grain of salt as I do not want to spread fear or tension and do with that what you will... but I would suggest reading strongly between the lines... your headache shouldn't be about buying oil, or toilet paper... it should MOST DEFINETLY be something else. Hopefully the NRL season is not interrupted.

Wouldn’t mind knowing a bit about her character? Separations can be messy at times, buying the kids apples makes him sound petty but her blaming losing 3 jobs because of his celebrity sounds a bit like she’s blaming others for her own shortcomings. A lot can go on behind the scenes in a break up so very hard to demonise someone without some perspective

I think the media is rightly steering clear of it. A bitter former ex with an axe to grind going for a character assassination for all the pain he’s caused her. Just messy and airing personal stuff.


Those calling it a right wing hit job or dirty politics. I think it’s just a former jilted partner that is jealous he’s in a new relationship and she felt she’s come off second best. This will all be forgotten by next week and is as irrelevant as Luxon’s wife’s car.

I agree that’s what it comes across as and it could potentially have some negative consequences for how people view his character but years of his persona that’s been on display will also be in people’s minds I think. Very easy to portray someone in a negative light without knowing the whole story

Can just see MP’s bringing apples to parliament and offering them to Hipkins every time he tries to comment on child poverty. He could be damaged goods…

Nah, Hipkins is the coalitions best assets, they will be trying to shut this down as well and won’t want to see him step down.
