What's the solution. Moving them on to where exactly?Sooner this is introduced the better, Queen St is a disgrace. Clearly need to come up with the best possible solution, however what the current situation is definitely isnβt it!
No idea where, however they simply canβt be setting up home on Queen St, anyone walking down there would agree. What's the solution. Moving them on to where exactly?
All the organisation equipped to deal with them have had their funding cut.
It's only going to get uglier
Absolutely it is mental illness & also it is people that have been ignored & abused their whole lives. They hang out on Queen St so they can be noticed, acknowledged by people. Itβs all very very sad.Based on my amateur diagnoses, the homelessness in Auckland CBD is a mental health and addiction issue, not necessarily homelessness per se
Maybe if this government hadn't shut down emergency housing ehNo idea where, however they simply canβt be setting up home on Queen St, anyone walking down there would agree.
Maybe if there wasnβt inter-generational abuse & neglect within the βfamilyβ environment more like it.Maybe if this government hadn't shut down emergency housing eh

Highest unemployment in 30 years. Stats NZ says 160,000 out of work in September 2025. 121,000 in September 2024, so 39,000 people have lost work in 1 year
But hours worked up - itβs a positive signal, there will obviously be spare employed labour capacity right now so the first thing businesses do is extract more productivity / hours out of their existing workforce. Once capacity is fully utilised then they begin employing again.Stuff

Slower than the titanic unfortunately, hopefully we stay afloat better. Survive till 25 was an absolute fallacy, never seen things like my mechanic shutting his doors at midday after I got my ute serviced because he had nothing for the rest of the day. Things canβt turn quick enough for manyThings are turning.
I personally donβt see the country in a better state than when they took officeWhat a shitshow this awful coalition is

Everyone is going to have a different view based on their personal circumstances. For me, I think we had to make changes and by second quarter of next year we are going to be in a much better place economically. In regards to other issues, just prior to the last election I felt that every key indicator was not in a good place, which was the first time I had seen that in my life time. Education, Crime, Health, a propped economy through Government spending and borrowing. Hell, even the state of our roads with the potholes. I felt our whole focus had been shifted over time from getting the basics right. Appreciate that others will have a different view.I personally donβt see the country in a better state than when they took office
