The Greens have always been an alternative, for want of a better word, party but they also had a few core policies and were very good at articulating them, and doing so quite respectfully. Currently I'm actually not sure what they stand for. They have morphed more in to an anarchist party, not dissimilar to the same progression the māori party has taken. If you look at what the party was like with Jeanette Fitzsimons and Rod Donald (or Pita Sharples and Tariana Turia for the māori party) or even with James Shaw it's almost chalk and cheese.

She’ll hold the youth vote because of the view greens are the party to target climate change and the environment and I don’t think she needs to do too much for their votes. Younger people are a bit more politically savvy these days, in the sense they’re motivated to vote. America can’t fathom their youth in universities in support of Palestine, they seem to be more independent thinkers rather than what they’re being fed to believe

I think Swarbrick is those things and still fairly new to the role, but some of the members of the party in recent times has let her down. I do agree that James Shaw has been a loss

Swarbruick has potential but needs another 10 years experience both in life and politics.

The greens remind me of the Tigers the last few years, young with lots of enthusiasm but needing old head to focus them.

Ironically, they need a few Boomers because they are like NSW cup players being exposed in the big league.

I think she’s really going to become a force. I’m not a greens voter and never have been but I still see her similar to Winston in that they have a particular voter base that’s loyal. Hers is young and Winston’s is old. Unfortunately for Winston old people are coming towards the end of their lives whereas if Swarbrick’s voters stick with greens, their support will grow as new voters come through. I think NZ first will die with Winston

I’m absolutely loving the Green Party imploding. There’s been scandal after scandal, and they’re not small indiscretions. Migrant worker exploitation, theft of 10’s of thousands in clothing & now this.

I watched the presser with Chloe & marama, and I’ve never felt so gaslit in my entire life. I gave them the chance to admit it was unusual & invite an investigation (all that WP said on his post), however the deflection was both disgusting, and predictable.

Brushing all LGBTQ into the same category, saying that what was said is acceptable in their culture has really pissed off many members of that community. To then say, it was a private account & the posts were made pre MP.. for starters, it wasn’t private (I checked it out before it all broke out), and secondly, does that make it ok, if it was? She, and other members followed the account, knew of the posts prior to him
becoming an MP yet somehow deemed it ok to fast forward his appointment.

I’m sick and tired of being called a white, right wing, bigot, conspiracy theorist, for simply believing that this behaviour is unacceptable. You can’t even criticise the left in the modern day, withoit the same copy paste reply of the aforementioned insults.

How anyone could A, vote for these loonies, and B, want to give them more power in govt is actually mindboggling. It’s controversy after controversy, and Marama & Chloe’s positions as leaders is untenable.

None of this would have even reached the airways without both independent media & X. This popped up on Friday, followed by 3 days of silence whilst the greens worked up some form of defence, to then allow the MSM media to release statements within minutes of each other, all playing Doyle as the victim in all of this.

This is why the MSM is dying. No one believes a word they say & they’re tuning out in record numbers. It’s a real shame that this is the case, but it’s just the reality. I for one hope that the greens continue to self destruct until they finally click, and go back to their roots of climate & environmental protection, as it was under previous great leadership. I’ve voted for the greens twice & I wouldn’t touch them with a 100 foot pole in their current state.
