And your outrage about tim Jago and the attempts of act to keep him from the public eye for two years? Now there's some facts.
I got no idea what you are talking about. I came on this forum and add to the conversation about who you all are discussing. If there is another politician in the past who did the same thing I hope they got rid of him too. I agree we need to be consistent. I did not vote labour or national. I don't care, so if someone does a vile act or acts inappropriately on either side they need to be consistently and appropriately dealt with.

How convenient. And what vile acts has the person you're accusing done? You've provided no facts.

No offense mate, but I’m not entirely sure the defence of this Greens guy is worth your, or the Green’s energy. The party would actually be in a better position if it distanced itself from him

his behaviour doesn’t look illegal, but it certainly doesn’t look like it is worth associating with

This is what I wrote ".....so if someone does a vile act or acts inappropriately on either side they need to be consistently and appropriately dealt with." There is no proof that he has done vile acts but it is clear his behaviour and what he stands for is not appropriate for an MP. So it falls in the category of "acting inappropriately."

And if you go back and look at the last however many pages it's pretty clear a number of people on here jumped to some pretty nasty conclusions very quickly and some took glee in the rent a mob that followed.

I am certain there are contexts missing here that certain groups on the right have no interest in. Those same groups are basically behaving like lynch mobs.

I've very clearly stated by the way dbomb that if anything criminal has occurred then prosecution needs to occur and swiftly.

The Greens need to sort their shit out too with their candidate training and vetting.

There's a few other parties such as ACT and New Zealand First that would do well to apply the same scrutiny.

According to who? There's been misinformation and disinformation from the media just as much as many of the so called conspiracy theorists. People have to be able to think critically today, there's truth found from lots of sources.
The right and far right in the western world, putin, China and other bad actors are actively conducting vigorous disinformation campaigns and have been for years, resulting in wild bullshit conspiracies, open attacks on western style democracy and concerted attacks on fact, science and progressive thinking. It's not thinking critically when your foundations are pure lies. So sure, free to choose your sources but if you're willing to believe in conspiracies you can be open to the fact that you're being played. Facts are independent of you and i

Word salad trying to justify going into bat for someone making paedophile references with kids on social media.

This is how it gets normalised in real time.

This is not about left or right. We should all despise any form of child abuse whether committed on the right, left, by religious leaders or anyone else.

I don’t think this is as serious as some of the other things referenced here and I am more concerned about those.

However what is disturbing about this case is the Greens insistence that nothing wrong has occurred and that the MP is actually the victim.

I agree this is the lower end of the scale but it is not ok to caption photos of kids with eggplant emojis - that is sick. It may have been a really off colour joke and if that’s all it is admit and apologise. No child is old enough tio consent to being part of sexualised joking -so it shouldn’t happen.

I don’t particularly get into targeting individuals. It’s up to the parties to sort their candidates and the voters to hold them to account.

But WTF is up with the Greens candidate selection and depth of talent?

Are they prioritising a certain demographic and putting identity before skills and experience (eg Shaw)?

I always thought in the past the Greens were a party of integrity and standards and respected them for standing up for what they believe, even if I wouldn’t vote for them. Well that’s pretty much shot with todays Greens.

While I like Chloe, I think they need some old heads supporting her and playing a deeper strategic game around what they are about and stand for.

Green Party MP Kahurangi Carter: “For many people in New Zealand, they would feel safer alone with a patched [gang] member than police”.

Green MP Tamatha Paul “Wellington people do not want to see police officers everywhere, and, for a lot of people, it makes them feel less safe,”

NOW: the vocal anti police Greens have turned to the police over the current incident.

Oh the irony 🤣
