Don’t think the police sent the star witness overseas? Perhaps they planted the meth too? Never know, there’s a history there? Either way a court has found him innocent. Ezra Mam proved that some are just lucky
Yes however Winnie can extract self gain while remaining true to his beliefs (I think)

Surprised how so many are in favour of Winston after him being viewed in such a negative light by many on here over time. Must admit that he’s performing far better than his coalition counterparts, but not a high bar either. As someone who knows anything about the Peters through marriage, I don’t hold much hope for your statement
I was chatting to one of his former advisors just after he first got voted back in. They said he’d put away all the crazy talk, knuckle down & quietly go about doing a good job. I think he’s more or less done that, however he doesn’t suffer fools & can’t help himself when he comes across them - which is every day in parliament. I’d say he’s surprised me positively thus far.
Winnie represents the long lost tradition where politicians were statesmen, diplomats. Intelligent with a sharp wit. The modern crop is so intellectually mediocre its depressing. Makes Jim Bulger look like Johnny Carson

Correct. As an example, Chloe Swarbrick is put on a pedestal by some, however her written contributions to local media publications are about the same level as what you’d expect from a year 11 student. It’s appalling.

Helpful that he spends so much time out of the country to avoid negative publicity but absolutely a smart man and his role demands he’s out of the country a lot. I think his term as deputy pm will be viewed fondly with what Seymour will dish up but it really is a low bar. Think Winston’s biggest issue is ego, and always has been since he was a national mp and defected many years to start NZ first. Will be interesting to see if he’s turfed like the previous government did at first opportunity? I think national would rather continue with him and turf act, but I don’t think the numbers will allow it?
Well first question is whether he goes around again because he’s not getting any younger. However I think he probably will - he loves it, why retire from what you enjoy.
Assuming he does stick around then I think National will def stick solid with NZ First, it secures strength of the centre right &, as you commented, National are finding NZ First to be the easier coalition partner.

Hopefully the evolution of politics because these are the types viewed less trustworthy than a car salesman to the majority of public. Shady dealings around donors publicly questioned in the path but often shut down because of his threat of legal proceedings, to which he often does at the expense of the taxpayer. Couple of national mp’s were his last victims

Look at the amount of elections Winston has been the king or queen maker from the fringes with the greypower vote. Still can be valuable
