Interesting nobody has mentioned the influence of the insidious side of the internet and social media in the role of the Sovereign movement or similar
Surely it's actually likely the biggest cause with what's playing out in that movement
A sector of society being manipulated by misinformation & then amplifying and feeling important for the first time.
Nailed it, preying on the desperately mentally ill for the purpose of destabilising society should be seen as an act of terrorism imo.

Neo liberalism a cause? That’s a view some of you will take, others will argue it’s provided opportunities & positively contributed to society. Does it promote inter generational unemployment, drug & alcohol abuse and worse, or are there other factors at play? Again there’s lots of different opinions out there on the primary drivers.
How exactly has neoliberalism positively contributed to NZ society since Rogernomics? I need some examples.

NZs highest rates of unemployment were directly after our biggest burst of neoliberalism the 90s.

Reported unemployment is part of a cycle, there was nothing structural in what you highlight during that period in the 90’s.

Oh really! So the Rogernomics reforms didn't lead to some of the countries highest unemployment ever?
I guess the Rogernomic Recession was caused by drunks, druggies and the unemployed then.

I'm still waiting for some examples on how neoliberalism improved NZ society & social cohesion here.

The negative impacts on society's are pretty well studied.

Don't forget those that don't want to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps, or those who are layabouts, or those insisting on smashed avocado on toast with their latte!
