Why’s that Mike?
Because John Key was trying to get the Cabinet of the then Labour Government to change it's Foreign Affairs policy... which is the role of the opposition, to scrutinise the Government's policy. Chloe, on the other hand, tried to introduce a Bill to force the Government to change it's policy.... that's what her call for 6 government MP's to cross the floor.... it would have forced a Foreign Policy change.... not through the Cabinet but through Parliament.

And, BTW, I thoroughly support a two party state with Israel and Palestine co-existing ... just not the undemocratic way she was trying to force it through.

Ah well, whether this has prompted it or not the government is finally starting to make some noise with Luxon saying Netanyahu has lost the plot. NZ needs to join the growing amount of countries that are outraged at what’s happening and what’s proposed over there

I don't know what exactly is proposed, but I'm afraid it's a Biblical solution and it's beginning to look a lot like genocide.

Much of the world doesn’t seem to be able to comprehend that supporting Palestine doesn’t mean supporting hamas. Most recent figures say 35% of Palestinians support hamas, but transparency in finding that statistic seems unlikely? I don’t think many oppose the quest to be rid of hamas, but the collateral and destruction is unjust and I agree is a genocide. The proposal is that Netanyahu will take complete control over Gaza

My grandad was a Jew who got deported from northern Italy as a young man and survived various concentration camps before ending up in NZ and immediately starting a family with another member of the tribe, to get back at Hitler for murdering his family according to him. And because he fell in love, I like to think.
He wasn't a fan of Israel because of the Russian influx in the 1950s, he said "bubbalah, if you knew what they had to do to survive the Russian lagers you wouldn't want to be in a country run by them, it made them fucking psychopaths, if I were you I'd stick to being a secular atheist kiwi like me and forget about Abrahamic death cults. Anyway, Merry Christmas. Here's your gift, it was your great granddad's kippah, don't wear it out."

Funny really as in the middle east as you would know, the Kippah relates like the Keffiyeh. Only men could wear it but I guess Chloe and her friends sort of fit the bill. And my understanding is that both garments are worn on the head. Not sure where the decorative scarf thing came from. Bit like being Gay or Trans in Iran.
Yes, a fair few are psychopaths like your Grandpa says (Putin agrees) but tbh ISIS made the Haganah look like kindergarten pupils.

Even though Labour was calling the shots during Covid, everyone else was standing around staring at the sky while the democratic process was usurped.
All the other parties hierarchy should be fronting up to explain why they all navel gazed and allowed parliament to be adjourned.

Yesterday, when it came out, it didn't look good that the main people in the response were not going to meet with the people doing the Covid Inquiry. Like most modern issues, it was a good headline. The detail is in the articles where one of the people doing the inquiry mentioned they could get by without them or something similar.

I saw a clip of Hipkins answering questions about the Covid Inquiry. He answered that he was providing information, collecting the information and would respond in written form.

He was evasive on fronting the inquiry and eventually answered. Needed to know what they would be asking. They can't cover information already provided.

The current inquiry also can't look at anything during the time NZ First was in government.

I have also seen comments that the last inquiry was skewed the other way.

Both sides should pull their head in. I've said previously that this should be looked at similarly to a business after a cyber response. The lockdowns are similar to the impact a cyber event can have on an unprepared business. The business grinds to a halt, similar to the economy during covid.

The more information, the better. For example, I had a business talking with one of their middle management after a cyber event, who didn't know what happened or why their response was inadequate. But he was pushing the same agenda as before the event like it would have solved everything. If they got reports from all of the vendors they would have found a lot more issues that would help prevent it from happening again.

They ministers in charge have been interviewed, given evidence and the commission declined to summons them

The architects of this particular enquiry were proposing "Vax Bucks" & Winnie was tweeting up a storm while in opposition on the importance of vaccination & how slack the government had been with them.

Honestly it's probably a case of the commission realising the hypocrisy & politicisation of this under taking.

Get's cookers excited though.
