Sports đźŹŹ Black Caps

I couldn't be prouder! What a result, and one never achieved by any other team.

And just brilliant cricket for any neutral.

Who'd have thought Kohli, Rohit and Ashwin would have little impact in a 3 match series.

Some real belief before taking on England for a WTC final spot potentially. England just humbled by Pakistan. Williamson to come back, not sure about Jamieson etc.

I’m fairly new to cricket but will usually keep a close eye on us over the summer. Could you compare this to the AB’s getting done by Argentina at home?

India has announced their decision to withdraw from Test Cricket to concentrate on Kabaddi, but they remain shit-scared that New Zealand might take up the sport as they might end up being whitewashed again.

Its unprecedented and many phenomenal players and teams have tried and failed. Add in that NZ cricket was at a low ebb, with doom and gloom on the horizon. For me it is the best result in NZ's history by some way.

Argentina has been building for a long time and is a good team. That result was a matter of time, and not that much of a surprise. No one would have picked this; not even the most one-eyed fan.

You could compare it to being done by Argentina at home 3 Times. Maybe. The complication is how you'd compare New Zealand at Test Cricket v Argentina at Test Rugby, given how often Argentina's Rugby Union Test Team play versus how often New Zealand's Cricket Test Team play as a group over the same period. Given the amount of fixtures the two teams get together (obviously in the New Zealand's Test Team's favour), I'd plum for Argentina beating New Zealand 3 Times In Succession Anywhere as the bigger achievement. Yet to happen, of course.

Anyway, bring on those England Nobodies, let's have ourselves another 3-0 Series Win, Australia at the WTC Final at Lords, see ya there, cobbers!

Add to that the player pool and huge money the BCCI has in comparison. Then to outplay them in spin friendly conditions is the unlikliest of clean sweeps ever. And to think of how long test cricket has been played there this is the first time they have lost 3-0 at home!

Have we seen the catalyst for an Indian rebuild? How many of the superstars will be around in a year or so? Sharma, Kohli, Jadeja, Ashwin.

If they get rolled in Australia things could get feral.
I think you mean "could get more feral".
I still recall hearing media stories about Indian women getting suicidal over Sachin Tendulkar being injured. It wouldn't surprise me if the Indian Test Team are having to up the security when members go out for dinner/whatever. The Indian public will be Very. Pissed. Off.
Apart from anything else, how would you feel talking to a Sri Lankan fan who's thrilled because their team beat the Black Caps 2-0 and your teams just lost to the same Black Caps 0-3? One imagines friends/families in India will find various excuses to not talk to their friends/families in Sri Lanka for a wee while. Dang climate change/energy problems/just busy at work/etc...

I still have faint memories of beating Australia in 1985, more of Hadlee’s 9 wickets & Crowe’s ton than anything else, but this is so much more impressive. Aussie were a pretty ordinary side really back then, Border hadn’t sorted things out at that stage. This is against the best in their conditions that they doctored all they could. It’s almost impossible to believe. All cricket fans will remember this forever.
