Strange though that Billy would leave out Cobbo even though he was excellent only two weeks ago in game I. Says injury and form were the factors, but on the other hand he's picked Capewell who's back one game from injury and no current form to speak of. I guess injury-free/no form trumps injury...
Warriors aren't coping well with the Storm's big men. Definitely targeting Pompey's defense too. It's like Johnson's never been out of the team, same old last tackle kicks. Status quo resumed, Johnson calls the shots on last tackle kicks, TMM who? He's just the bloke who kept my spot warm, big...
You learn a lot about your squad's depth when so many first team players are injured. Who steps up, who can cope with playing at NRL level. What's pleasing is that the defence in the last three games has only conceded around 15-16 points on average with only Penrith reaching the 20 point mark.
Yup, good to see Curran getting more game time and thriving. Would've liked to see what Webby could've done with Eli Katoa. Big and with a bit of pace.
News out of Blues camp is Liam Martin has a troublesome hamstring, has physios working on it. He did stretching exercises during training. Mitch Barnett on standby, could be in the 17 yet come GameDay.
Hard to pick the best combos with all the injury disruptions. So far this year there's been 4 different starting fullbacks, 4 different halves pairings, 3 different centre pairings. That's just the backs alone. I think if the forwards go good and give us go forward and field position, Webby...
Honestly, I think SJ should be spelled until he's fully fit; he's been playing with an injury for a number of matches and it's affecting his form. At the very least put Tuaupiki on the bench as interchange for SJ with CNK moving to 6, TMM to 7 while SJ is off.
Unfortunately I see Webby sticking to the same players who served him well last year as they return from injury. Why? Because they're the best players for his game plan. I can't see Webby ripping up his game plan mid-season for something different despite yesterday's win. What yesterday showed...
TBH this Penrith team isn't playing with the same ruthlessness as last year. They've had some close wins against teams near the bottom, and playing without Cleary for a few matches. Losing so many good players over the years has to take its toll. They'll make top 8 for sure, but maybe not top 4.
