He was good with a strong performing 7 like SJ in 2023. Nathan Cleary 7 and Metcalf 6 could work, I think this is who we should be targeting
It's 3 years on though. He's done what he saw as his apprenticeship for the #7, had the taste of being the main man, became the face of the club, performed in clutch moments and has experienced the euphoria that comes with it.
He has the skills to be a very good #6, but it would take a big mindset shift & huge improvement required in his left side D

Nothing but my own suspicion but this extension to Clark further confirms to me that CHT and likely Boyd won’t be here past their current contracts. Clark could have been approached later in the year but those other two can be negotiating now and by all accounts deserve an extension. Metcalf was brought back as 6, that’s likely because of Boyd’s form but it shows they’ll play Metcalf at 6 for a dominant 7. People including SJ have said that Metcalf is their 7, or words to the effect but that’s only all our speculation and 6 might be where he’s going to stay?

Would Willam Wallace be on similar to RTS or less? I know we invested heavily in metcalf and have had to upgrade juniors but I still think with losing Barnett next year I can't see how we couldn't afford to keep Boyd and CHT, I would be willing to extend both even if down the track we need the headache of trying to offload one (of Metcalf and Boyd). Metcalfs injury profile means we have to be willing to be overstocked. I would be filthy if we let Boyd go and he goes on to have success and we keep Metcalf and he then consistently struggled for fitness.

Rocco, Boyd, Capewell, CHT and TMM are our only unsigned squad members for next season.

With Clark, Niukore and RTS sorting their future over the last few weeks, we might get some more decisions made soon.
I think theres every chance that Rocco and TMM retire or take unders to stick around and be depth. Boyd and CHT will be in for paydays and I think Capes will be let go to be Bears inaugural captain.

Great news about Clark, he’s been a big factor for us last year and this year. Has a great skill set for today’s game and hope he continues to improve.

For both CHT and Boyd this next contract is a big one for them as a three year contract would take them close to 30. They’ll want to be paid good money and in the form they are both in there is an opportunity for them to increase their respective values as the season goes on.

William Wallace from Braveheart?

There is not a lot of spots left at the Warriors. Any signings wont be average players I think. The days of Aussie Tradesmen look to be gone on the basis of the young player production factory we now have running at full blast.

I can only see playing standards increasing further from here given the unreal depth we now have. Once the the young backs come through from NSW Cup and Flegg its going to be extreme hard for players outside of injury to crack into this Warriors game day squad.

Keep in mind too that we likely need to upgrade the following players to the 2028 NRL Squad

Bishop Neal - 28 (Unless upgraded early)
Jason Salalio - 28
Makaia Tafua - 28

So looking at who is leaving in 2027 vs who is coming in - This is what looks to be shaping up to me... but anything could happen - A star signing out of nowhere/falling into our hands.

Rocco Berry - BRONCOS Replacement / Anderson
Tanah Boyd - KEEP
Kurt Capewell - Bishop Neal?
Chanel Harris - KEEP
Marata Niukore - Cooper Page-Wilson?
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck - Will Warbrick
Te Maire Martin - Jett Cleary
Mitchell Barnett - Jason Salalilo?

And what about the prodigies? Jeremiah Lemana, Jack Thompson, Christian Sikuvea?

Also keep in mind who is set to leave in 2028

Wayde Egan - Possible keep 1 - 2 year extension but Makaia Tafua will demand NRL Contract.
Jackson Ford - KEEP
Samuel Healey - KEEP
Ali Leiataua - KEEP
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad - GONE
Adam Pompey - GONE
Dallin Watene-Zelezniak - GONE
Kayliss Fatialofa - 27 - Great player but can they fit him anywhere in the squad? Needs game time to see what he can do.

Of final note - We are going to lose some real good talent that will do well at NRL level. The Warriors have the pick of the crop though. Players arriving good to go at NRL level. We waited a long time for this.

Toby Crosby - Most of us were gutted and Panthers grabbed him with no offer from us. It looks a good call by the Warriors as he has been playing of the bench in reserve grade for the Panthers. At the Warriors he was dropped off the bench for the reserves.

We are getting calls correct.

I don't see the club keeping dal as it's a mutual option. I think Warbrick is his replacement and AKP is Shecks replacement with Mellar and maybe a Amituanai or Norris?

Also look out for Harry Lutoi (sorry if that's wrong) that kid can find the try line.

Honestly I think best for the club is to keep Metcalf, Boyd and CHT

1 is home grown the other 2 we have insurance for injuries and compassionate releases

Jack Thompson maybe debut 2028 and take over 2029

TMM, Linnane, Hansen, Jett, Inch are just Cappy throwing stuff at the wall and see what sticks, we've got the goods already, the first 3 are expendable, Jett might not be ready till 27 or 28 anyway, and he might go home, and Inch if he gets there could take over with Thompson or move to a different position (13? 1? Centres?).

I also saw people assuming Boyd wants to leave, I'm just curious if he wants to go to another Titans environment and be crap again? Any substantial rumors from across the ditch? He's becoming integral to our success and would he wants to leave it behind even if we table a good offer? The work environment vibe seems to be humming
