General Warriors Injury Thread 2026

I think you are being black and white about this. It is not a black and white claim.
He is saying we are relatively more likely to target injury risk prospects than other clubs are. NOT that all our recruits are injury plagued people.
And because we have a higher mix of injury prone recruits we are going to have lots of injuries some years when we are unlucky.

You happy with that answer to resolve this debate?
Na I wouldn’t mind you doing a breakdown of all our recruits since we started to settle this

To do that you would need to compare it to the recruitment of other clubs which is the relativity part.

How many other clubs have 50% of their recruits this year with significant major injury histories?

Probably roosters would be the closest. Talau hasn’t been too bad since missing the 2022 season just picking up the odd injury here and there, but more struggled for selection. Cody Ramsay though certainly has had struggles

No, I won't be happy until someone slaps someone else with a glove and challenges them to a duel.

Throughout our history we've recruited guys who fell out of favour with other clubs for whatever reasons - injury could indeed be included in those reasons.
True . I guess we have had to deal differently to Australian clubs to get experience

We would have to have a pretty horrid run early to sweat the cup guys coming in right?

This is from 2024
10 Players out. NRL is a tough sport we could and have had horrid runs for injuries.

Thankfully Tanah is on a winning streak of 1 to start the year. If we beat a very good Cambra team this week. It bodes well for stress levels regarding returns.

Curious about Rocco's injury.

Theres not much information online about what even happened originally...i know there was mention of nerve damage, but yeah just seems to be a lack of details as to what happened initially and how its going currently etc.

He injured himself in rd 27 last year and is expected back rd 14 this year - thats a 9 month lay off yet almost nothing shared about it? Seems extremely lengthy, cant remember the last time there was this long a lay off with so few details

He had surgery at the end of last season due to his shoulder dislocation, and then I believe he needed surgery on it again during pre-season.

This latest or last injury was a horror fest so bad that they couldn't pop the bone back in (closed reduction) without surgery (he was prolly gonna need surgery anywho but a closed reduction is to protect the tissue, especially nerves and blood vessels and the longer the joint is out the harder it gets).

His unfortunately is the triple suckfest of poor history, nasty injury, complications ongoing....

I guess we will find out the next time he runs out whether he is done, surely if it goes again he has to retire and the Warriors need to apply for a cap release of his contract .

A bit of a bummer with the Barnett injury news.

Missed the first 3 games due to recovering from the ACL. Now 6 weeks due to a broken thumb.

The middles were going well in his absence earlier.

Hopefully, he plays in a preliminary final and a grand final so he can make up for the games he missed.

So Linnane is now TBC
He might be cooked tbf.

If he misses majority of this year, that would be pretty much 3 consecutive years of ACL related absence

If they take a look at him at the end of the year and the prognosis isnt good, there might be some internal pressue to cut him with Thompson and Inch playing so well, plus the development they've already put into Cleary/Hanson. Cass Tia is in the picture now too.

Linnane is just really behind the 8 ball now in terms of development.

He’s turning 21 isn’t he? Guess still time but if you can’t rediscover the explosive pace it’s over…
