our defense crumbles without Cape and Barney’s gone
Neither played against the Raiders, Knights & Storm.
Barnett's only games saw us concede 12 but then 32 points.
I wouldn't be upset with re-signing Capewell but we conceded, on average, 17 points a game in the 3 matches he missed in 2025 & it sits at 20 pg without him this year.
His experience helps, but having him in the lineup isn't a huge factor in how many points we let in

Barney played the Knights and smashed them

Let's be real though, we all know metcalf can play six!

He was great at 6 when partnering SJ when they were both fit

IMO a few factors that we don't have answers to yet
- Boyd/Metcalf haven't had a pre-season combining together
- The offload game this year, is it Boyd's idea, or Webby just let it loose? What can Met do with this template?
- Who's our 7 if 1 of Boyd/Met is injured, and the other leaves next year? CHT is not it.

Another point I don't think has been brought up - Boyd has played 16 consecutive games for us, Luke has played 12, 7 and 15 in each of the past 3 seasons. He's potentially Shane Bond-lite of rugby league

Boyd's only injury was a 10min HIA vs panthers, and Tanner SS pulling his hammy

CHT is that calming 6 that influence's any no7
There are a hell of a lot of landing spots for CHT. Dragons, Eels, Cowboys, Roosters, Titans, Bears, and Super League.
He would pair up well with Campbell at the Titans and Moses.
CHT adds confidence to his other half.
Just knowing he is safe and keeps it simple allows them alot more freedom.
