Something needs to change in that right edge defence. I’ve never seen a team so predictably shit at defending an edge like us. We even had 2 players fall for the SAME dummy runner!!
Sorry but Charnze is not a centre and the last 2 weeks proved that he is nothing but a liability out there. Bring back Ali!
Metcalf will get some more rest now which is a good thing as he’s been nothing but a passenger since coming back.
The never ending issue with the right edge is there is always a dodgy cog/s, no matter the combo.

The only backrower we have who you can effectively count on to protect their half and lock down an edge currently is Capewell. Niukore last year and this causing issues with his loss of speed/lateral. Laban is still learning his trade, but not at a point in his career where he can offset Metcalf or Boyd's defence so any issues he has are amplified. You then have either Boyd or Metcalf there who I don't rate as defenders. Berry is probably our best defensive option at right centre but can't stay on the field. All of these issues inside Dal who isn't the greatest decision maker, but majority of the time the issue starts much further inside than him so thats hardly going to help his issues.

Not my take on things. Boyd was trying to shake things up all game. He seemed to get to dummy half more often than he should. His long kicks were easing the pressure a fair bit. He, TSS and DV were the best on the field in my books. LM, RTS, CNK very ordinary.
TSS yes and maybe Demi. Do you just forgot Boyd's drop balls and missed tackles or how does that work?

CHT and Boyd are > than whatever combination Metcalf is forced in. He needs a stint in reserve grade.
Think you are right
Bit of loss of confidence after his injuries and he is feeling his way back. A few games in Cup might have been better
Not thrown straight back into first grade and asked to go for 80
Hope he can get back to his best form because we need his x factor

Its obvious that CNK should never play centre again. I said 2 weeks ago he should be playing NSW cup instead of centre in top grade and people were shocked.

DWZ was our best back today easily but he is also not up to standard on the whole. Yes he is elite at scoring on the corner and got an intercept but thats all he offers and he has cost us a lot of games.

RTS has looked like an imposter has entered his body and played for him the past 2 weeks and i am a big RTS fan.

As much as Pompey has improved he is still too slow and takes the wrong option too many times.

TT has potential and we should stick with him for now.

Laban did not play well today but he has huge potential. I would keep him in the 17.

With all forwards fit Marata should not be in the 17.

AKP is worth a shot to give us some pace. Maybe he even needs to come in for Roger.

Ali is worth bringing back in for CNK.

When is Berry coming back because we need to see what hes got after injury.

I actually think metcalf has effected boyd by not doing enough.

CHT would override and offer an alternative option but metcalf atm seems to just be at the end or middle of the shape and falling into line instead of releasing pressure on boyd

I mean, this could also be true.

I'm keen for the reunion.

100% on all of this.

Ruth Graves Wakefield ran the Toll House Inn in Massachusetts, where she prepared all of the food for the inn’s guests. She had developed quite a reputation for her cooking, but in 1930, while preparing a batch of Chocolate Butter Drop Do cookies, Ruth realized she was out of baker’s chocolate. Assessing what substitute ingredients she had on-hand, she chopped up a bar of Nestle’s semi-sweet chocolate and tossed the pieces in with the mixture. Expecting the chips would melt into the dough as they cooked, like baker’s chocolate would, she was surprised to find that they had instead retained their shape, but were soft and gooey. The success of these treats had her recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies featured in several newpapers and on a Betty Crocker radio program. Ruth patented her creation, and it quickly became a favorite snack worldwide

Takeaway: Sometimes, running out of ingredients can lead to something even better!

And this is what has happened to Webster a number of times so far over the last few seasons. With missing ingredients this season in particular he has stumbled upon the Warriors equivalent of Chocolate Chip Cookies. Unfortunately, when you do get ingredients back you change the recipe and you no longer have the best cookie that there is.

Now, each ingredient is fine in its own right but you also have to get the recipe right or you end up with some that just don't work as well as some others do together.

It looks like Andrew 'Ruth Wakefield' Webster is going to be forced back to that accidental Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe for at least the next week.

The nobody at dummy half thing needs to stop. That gets right on my goat
something about Egan last year and this year
Suspicious Dexter GIF

Wasn't that Luke Metcalf I saw limping off the field? hard to argue he was better than Boyd from the dressing room physio table....but hey he might be like that bloke that could walk on water this weekend is about.....oh no....I take that back....Jesus could walk on two legs.
Metcalf was still on the field for 75mins.

The right edge had some joy when Boyd linked with TT. When Metcalf got involved on the right it looked well out of sorts.

When the ball went left he was shovelling it on, or running his players out of room the same as he did last week.

I don't want to rag on the poor bloke as hes just reinjured himself. But the attack has looked rough whenever he either got involved on the right or had it himself on the left two weeks in a row.

It's by no means our only issue, but it's thrown out the teams chemistry with ball in hand since he has.

I'm totally perplexed at what I'm watching.

- no one at marker again!?!
- crap speculative offloads
- players running into eachother
- coughed up ball
- paper thin edge defence

This is atrocious. Metcalf injured again, that's saved the coach having to make a tough call (not for the first time).

CNK at centre simply cannot be justified with "he's played centre at international level" - yeah 4 years ago...

Sheesh this has unravelled fast, we are now losing the middle, going wide too early = sideways.

Two weeks in a row teams just roll us up field, unless ofcourse they have cut us open in their own half and scored a long ranger, which by the way was also happening in our winning run.

Yeah sure looks like he is underdone or still not confident after all his previous injuries
Rushed back unnecessarily ( undefeated) and asked to go for the full 80
Given his history seems a bit tough.
Who knows what the medical staff thought

Quite a few reports thay he was doing very well at training. As we know that never automatically translates to game time. ACL for a player like him is much slower come back than Barnett. The more I see the more I think cup for a couple of rounds would have been better for all.
I think the stress of Boyd taking his 7 jumper 100% adds to that as well.
