General Mt Smart Stadium

3 of the 12 'home' games voluntarily taken away to Wellington, ChCh and Brisbane
Magic round is frustrating but that’s been explained multiple times that we took that deal for financial reasons. wouldn’t get wound up about Welly and CHCH, there’s Warriors fans outside of Auckland that the Warriors need to engage

Auckland Rugby and Auckland Cricket have announced that they are moving their domestic home games away from Eden Park due to costs. Auckland Cricket is relocating to Colin Madden Park for domestic games.... if only they could be persuaded to make it up to international standards. Auckland Rugby is looking at which smaller stadium will be suitable for Blues and NPC games.

Time for a proper redevelopment of a rectangular Eden Park with a roof.... first person on the EPTB to say international cricket should stay there should receive an invitation to bungee jump of the Auckland Harbour Bridge without a bungee cord!!!! Sell of Eden Park Two or turn it over to leasehold to repay the current money owed by Eden Park and to fund the redevelopment.

Just had a look at the new stadium in Christchurch. It's impressive and reminds me a little of that concept one for the Auckland waterfront with a viewing window at one end out to Rangitoto. I know the earthquake rebuild had a big say in the development of the stadium but I walked away very jealous and envious. And a little frustrated with our council and stadium 'plan'

I’m bringing my 4 and 7yo girls to the game on Sat night seeing as the game is a tad earlier. They have enjoyed coming along for the last couple of years and the club do a great job with making it a family friendly environment and engaging for young fans.

I messaged the membership team to see if they had any kid friendly areas or activities e.g. they used to have a blow up slide, bouncy castle, face painting etc. But with the construction work near the main gate that area can’t be used.

They mentioned a sign making activation with One NZ, but my question is - does anyone know of any other kid friendly activities or activations to get the kids involved with pre game? Or any other tips? I’m getting the standard ice cream and hot dog for their dinner which is always a win!

There isn't much more than what you say. There might be some one off sponsor initiated activations down the North End but they arent usually substantial.
Lilyworld has mini golf and table tennis tables there if they are into that.

Auckland FC does it a bit better with the blow up slide, and inflatable obstacle course. Although their matches are exclusively 3/5pm family friendly times vs Warriors predominantly 7.30/8.00pm kick offs.

Thanks Billy, thought that may be the case.

This is the first earlier kickoff game that I could take them to, as although I enjoy the 8pm games myself it is too late for my young girls.

Don’t know that about the lily pad, although every time I’ve been there it’s been pretty packed!

Cheers
