What's Scamaki trying to pull now harassing our Sikh community?

Such an odd group to cause a problem with. Sikhs are generally very relaxed. Integrate into the community. Just want a peaceful life

I’d like to see Tamaki pick a fight with a group that fights back, rather than one that wants peace

Sikhs are generally great apart from the fundamentalist ones. Far more community minded than most.

However, they certainly do not integrate, they consistently seek religious and cultural exemptions, such as headdress and carrying knives.

Are you talking about Muslims?

Never met a nicer group of people. Which is worse, ceremonial knives or wearing a Roman torture device around your neck?

Which aspects of society don't they integrate into? I can't think of any that cause problems except the ceremonial knife thing.
No one said anything not integrating into society. We are talking culture. Clothing, food, customs, religion. Just off the top of my head.

Again I’m not moralising any of it, just point out that I disagree with the integration part. Like a lot of ethno religious groups, they tend to form enclaves and want to enforce traditional customary values within it.

Sikhs just for the most part are benevolent, barring of course the batshit crazy militant ones.

Happy christmas all, spreading the socialist love this morning to all who sail in this shaky boat. (Jesus was a true socialist btw, if he has returned, his name is Chloe)

Particularly extending my socialist love to Inruin, brownstone, wizard of neoliberalism, defensive bomb, and of course, special mention to Frank.

No need for special mentions to everyone else, you're already there :)

Normal service resumes probably later today.

As a special gift from chatgpt:

1. What neoliberalism actually is (not the strawman)

Neoliberalism isn’t just “free markets”.

At its core, it is a governing philosophy that prioritises:

  • Markets over democratic decision-making
  • Capital mobility over labour security
  • Efficiency over resilience
  • Shareholder value over social value
  • Private solutions over public institutions

Crucially:

It doesn’t shrink the state — it repurposes it.

The state remains powerful, but increasingly acts to:

  • Protect capital
  • Enforce contracts
  • Suppress labour power
  • Socialise losses, privatise gains
