The forum discussion centers around the Warriors' Player of the Year award, with Erin Clark and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck RTS emerging as the leading contenders. Many participants, including Beastmode #14, voiced strong support for Erin Clark, highlighting his consistency, durability, and impact throughout the season. Others, like ShaunJohnson7 #26, champion RTS, emphasizing his elite winger status and the positive impact of his return to the Warriors. There is considerable debate about whether RTS's high level of play is simply expected, while Clark's consistent performance has made him a standout.
Some forum members have suggested alternative candidates, generating discussion about the relative value of different players. Tohu’s_Knees #19 made a case for Wayde Egan, arguing that the team wouldn't be in the top 4 without him, leading Defence #28 to add Egan to the poll. PrinceOfPenrose #39 nominated CHT Chanel Harris-Tavita, though this suggestion was met with some skepticism from ShaunJohnson7 #46 Beastmode #49. wizard of Tauranga #37 pointed out injuries impacted Barnett and Metcalf's performance.
Recently, the discussion has touched on statistical analysis and individual player attributes. tajhay #25 shared a link to a stat-based player rating system, which appeared to support Clark's dominance during the season, however, they clarified it was not to stifle conversation. Comments also highlighted specific skills, as MrFrankWhite #20 praised Clark's signature move, describing it as "unstoppable." Defence #41 shared an anecdote about their son's post-game interaction with DWZ Dallin Watene-Zelezniak regarding his hairstyle and Leka and his potential international allegiance, adding a light-hearted touch to the debate.
I must say that Clarks signature move; the acceleration into contact and sharp step back to create space, is almost unstoppable. Its like Nowitzki's one legged fade away jumper. Pretty sure he did it to Tino.
Well that’s settled it, shut the tread down!Based on stats/ratings:

Sorry stifling discussion wasnt the point of sharing that. Had the same thought as the OP if EC really was by far the best player for the Warriors in 25, and as you can see the cards at the bottom help support that he was miles ahead of anyone. There is no bias in any of that and its all dynamically generated.Well that’s settled it, shut the tread down!
He's only missed 3 gamesDon’t know where all this love for Egan comes from. Yeah he’s good but alittle too injury prone and can’t last 80mins. For that. Not in my top 3.
Was this not after being the only winger since 2019 to run 250 plus metres in 3 straight matches? Then in the forth he goes for over 300mThe game where RTS ran for the 2nd most meters ever for a winger was eye opening thats for sure.
Barnett and Metcalf were both injured half way through the season.
Good point. We’ve got short memories, he was being mentioned as an nsw bolter early in the seasonI realise there is a bit of a points system.
And Erin or RTS are almost guarantees
But IMO, there’s nuance to it all.
For me, the player of the year is Wayde Egan. Without Egan, we’re not in the top 4. Period.
