I noticed the difference Alofa Khan Pereira made to the Titans. Real speed turns those short kicks and overlaps into amazing try’s/opportunities. I know Alofa Pereira’s hit ups are much softer than Montoya but boy it feels like having someone who is a real threat, either speed wise or power wise would really open up that other side of the field and like someone said would also enhance RTS game. Guys like Setu Tu seem to take opportunities even though he’s neither super fast or powerful, but perhaps he would be on par with Montoya?

Agreed, this is where I’m at. We have enough in CNK, RTS and DWZ as far as hit ups.
Speec outside Roger would be awesome

I found it very interesting to see Tof Siply (?) this week. He was very impressive. But, how long has it taken for him to have that kind of impact. When did he leave us. Must be 4 years?
Perhaps realistically we're looking at similar lengths of time for our young forwards to mature. Hope not given our major challenge for next year.

How long has Havili been away and just seems to be coming into his own. Many young ones have left to hardly being heard of again. The Storm even struggled with Eli Katoa last year even though he was a first-grader for us.

Hopefully Ale comes good next year given extra time on the field this year? Can Bunty still also raise his own effectivity bar?
Maybe we just have to trust that it takes time patience, hard work and lots of luck. One or possibly 2 at best out of 5 might make the grade.
Sometimes its about getting away from their comfort zone. Hiku was one like that.

Also, don't forget the rabble of a club we were. These new guys should be getting better development now with our set up currently. Hopefully that improves the rate of development but realistically they are all still a few years away from first grade.

We still need some new signings to cover the middle over the next 2-3 years minimum

Middle is middle these days and that includes lock.

Barnett
Niukore
Harris
Bunty
Ale
Zyon Maiu’u
Sifakula

Jazz is off contract and if we're looking at a guy like Williams I doubt we're looking to extend Jazz in a hurry.

I think 8 middles is about right for a squad of 30 so room for one more. It's just unlikely to be anything more than a mid level replacement.
i'd have Jazz over Williams any day lol

With Tyrell May resigning with the Chooks, the average (or slightly above average) props left are: Ofahiki Ogden and one of the Molo brothers (the not-as-good-one). So... we are low key screwed UNLESS we go for someone under contract. Realistically, you have (1) Stefano with his opt-out clause if (sorry when) Tigers don't make the final. Then you have (2) NAS with the current talk of unrest... and that's about it. Imagine if we convince Tapine to come home... or Fotuaika to get away from the Titans... Heck Paseka anyone? These last 3 are pipe dreams...

Speaking of pipe dreams...anyone fancy taking David Fifita and turning him into a prop? In saying all this... looks like 2026 class is pretty solid that we could save up our money (post SJ/Harris/Niukore/Walker deals) and go for one or some of: Leo Thompson, Griffin Neame, Stefano, Wiremu Grieg, Xavier Willison... Davvy Moale.

In other recruitment/position news... anyone else hear Marcelo's interview about if he would move on if we won this year? He said he would happily do so to allow the young ones to come up. Only thing is - who? Winger is one of our weakest depth positions. Kosi seems out of favour, the others in NSW are just a bit young and VERY inexperienced. Guess whose able to negotiate this November that is a winger and from NZ... Ronaldo Mulitalo...

Food for thought

Mulitalo would undoubtedly be a fantastic signing. Can play both sides too.
Moala Graham-Taufa is 22 years of age. Close to 40 reserve grade games, been around professional environments for at least 3 seasons & has already debuted in the NRL

Sounds like Willison was picked up by the Broncos after just 1 game of League! Broncos scout was at the right place at the right time
At least he wont be eligible for origin then. Should be a future kiwi in the making if he keeps his current performances up.

Get him Mcfadden! He's never going to be this cheap again. Throw the BHU money at him.

Does all his family still live here in NZ? If so I'd be telling his agent to stay tight for a other season and get him home in 2026, let the Broncos develop him a bit more.

We also need to hold on to barney.

100% Would be great to snag the big guy.
But more importantly is to resign Barney.
He has gone to the tier just below the elite middles this year with more room to improve, with the added advantage of playing on an edge just as well.
I hope we offering an extension and doing everything we can to accomodate his family.

Setup Tu has a ton of potential but has a shitload of mistakes in him. Until they disappear he won't be near first grade.

I see the cashed up roosters have joined the race for Katoni Staggs. Broncos have got a conundrum to keep him but also Cobbo who one would think will attract attention. Would be going in hard for Willison in November when he can be approached if I was the Warriors
I just read joey Manu will leave in 2025

The Roosters have confirmed Joey Manu will depart the club at the end of the 2024 season, joining Japanese rugby club Toyota Verblitz.

The 27-year-old has played 164 games for the Roosters to date across nine seasons, having made his NRL debut in 2016.

This must be a lifestyle money decision hey.
It’s not an RTS test yourself to be the best choice.
A little sad to see someone so talented, in his prime playing in a B grade comp.
But equally more power to him setting himself up for his financial future.
