Don't hate the extension, it's a pretty fair price.

My judgement of him is still the same in that he and Matt Dufty are the same player.

We know what Metcalf has and plenty of us have been vocal about what's missing.

The tough part is that his lack of vision and instinct is not usually something you can coach.... would love to be wrong.

Gould on his podcast has said that the halves is the hardest position to recruit for at the moment as none are on the market. A lot of the top halves are in the veteran class.

Our half options with the exception of Johnson are not the finished product. They all have areas that need improvement. Johnson's main concern is his age. But having them under contract means we can concentrate on recruiting for other areas. Or depending on Johnson's decision either recruiting 1 half or promoting from within.

So what does that mean the phone slamming try celebration was about if it was sorted before the game? A done deal? Had other options and slammed the phone on them?

Fuck can we stop talking about that. What did BHU mean when he clothes lined one of his team mates last year and body slammed him????

Mens fucking nothing, it’s just a try celebration, so many people showing their age here. 😂😂

Certainly the most potential regardless of the forum self appointed experts.
I duno what the answer is, but at what point does the penny drop though?

Yes he is new to the NRL, but he isn't 21 he is 25.

Early days in the season, but he didn't show any changes to the way he played last season which is a worry.

Can we afford to go through another whole season with a deficient left edge? SJ and Tohu nearing the end, and AFB off next season. Yes we want to build to the future, but we also don't want to throw away a prime opportunity.

Sure but we have to take a punt on someone
Not many nrl games under his belt.
Very few halves available and ready to go while we wait for the system to throw up a better option.
RTS has to make adjustments to his game. He is always up in the offensive line and not deep enough.
Anyway I have faith in Webster to sort this out.

It's a shame CHT left when he did, because now he is off the pace and behind the 8-ball.

He was a far more rounded half than Metcalf is and would have suited our current style perfectly.

Playing off Egan's directness, and with CHT's ability to play deep into the line squaring up the defensive line would really set that left edge free.

Yeah mate. Has a lot of catching up to do unfortunately 😕

Good to have him signed up for longer. Ends any speculation and also means stability.
Speculation as in will he stay or it means he’s our 6 for the year?

How much is TMM’s contract?

If Metcalfs on more then the clubs backing him and he’s locked in as a starter going forward isn't he?

If numbers are true, we’d have had to pay more to get a similar player over from Aus, bums like Sullivan at the tigers get paid that much to move clubs.

That’s one half locked in for life post SJ whose the other one going to be?
For context the rated Jack Howarth was paid $500k a season before even playing first grade and that was before the pay adjustments. If he’s willing to keep progressing with the club and they think there’s potential it’s a good deal for us. There’s still risk in his hamstrings that are still an unknown and if he progresses as hoped by the next contract and he’s healthy he’ll get a considerable pay increase

Sullivan is a better 7 than metcalf.
Metcalf is a better 6 than Sullivan.
So they should be in the same ballpark in terms of $$$.
