Recruitment Warriors 2026/2027 Recruitment & Retention

Inch is good, great kicking skills but I would not class him as a league 6. A league 6 is like Strange from Canberra. Leaguies are usually a little more athletic and defensively tough. Could Inch become tougher? Yes, but he is not a line breaking attacking 6. I would say Linnane is more what we want. I could be wrong, but I have seen a fair bit of him and think he is your typical rugby 10, which while they excel in kicking and have a good passing game, many of them lack that attacking running game. I think we get excited on potential here much more than actual reality.
Just my opinion. I might be wrong...
Thank you brother.
A Warrior who has seen a fair bit of him in the trenches.
Here's hoping his attacking instincts can be broadened.
Know a couple rugby 10's who have crossed over and done well at grassroots.
I did a similar post on Linnane to be honest.

Bit of a weird one, but just off YouTube alone I’m more impressed with the Harry Inch signing than AKP.

Could be a ghost this time next year, who knows 🤷‍♂️ but his passing, ball skills and direct running look top shelf.

That drop goal was filthy too — kid’s got plenty of confidence!

We already know what we’re getting with AKP — plenty of tries, dodgy D, and not many metres coming out of trouble.

I have an unpopular idea. But he sounds like a good second receiver ball playing centre to me. So Metcalf to Inch to winger on that side or Chitty to Inchy on the other side. Link man.

We definitely need speed. Whether this guy is the answer is yet to be seen and sounds like Webster has some D work ons with him. Hopefully he comes good
Going off the news article sounds like he's really bought into the club and wants to prove himself to the boys.

Either way we needed more outside back options. RTS and DWZ both at the ends of their careers and starting to have a few injuries we needed more depth in the outside backs. With Mellars and AKP both coming can only be good for the team to have more competition and depth in those positions. until development line starts producing in these areas too.

Really feel like we've got a very well balanced squad now but could potentially use a bigger prop in the middle for a point of difference would be the only addition I can see us potentially needing - can probably have Marata as a genuine middle next year though with Fatialofa, EIT, Capewell, Laban and Halasima all options for 2nd row.

Pretty sure they’ll let Roger go early to R360 we’ve let him go early before
R360 starts end of next year (end of october).

Interested to see how Webster uses AKP. Webby has shown good ability to coach players to their strengths, however conservative it may look. We now have a speedster who is better in attack then defence so interested to see how Webster changes tact to include him as part of the puzzle. We have been crying out for pace, so interesting to see if we know how to use it.

Yeah just from the highlights im more in line with this comparison as well.

I like in most those clips how he runs with the ball in 2 hands (which always makes defenders hold off). Looks more a power runner than a straight out speed freak. Passes into space and a strong front on defender.....can kick as well....looks more a potential stand off than anything else to me.

As for our other recruit AKP, We needed some genuine speed somewhere so im glad we've filled that quota. As with most speedsters tho the key will be the players inside him and what sort of space they can create. Not to mention he'll need to up his involvement on early hit ups and D.... looking at our outside back stocks a signing that was definitely needed tho.
I guess I am keen for Fullback mostly because I want one that can ball play and has a kick on him.

Especially with the arrival of AKP, I think a fullback Wing pairing out of our end with this guy standing in the tackle and getting good ball to his Winger from kick offs could be devastating.

To be honest I don't care where they play him apart from the back three in the scrum. We have a log Jam of true forwards. Why jam it up some more when the dearth of talent is in the backline.

I think AKP signed as first drop with encouragement to push to start. I can't take any more DWZ, I feel like the only time where we feel he had an ok game on D the opposition didn't test his edge
I can stand a bit more Dwizzy next year. Wingers don't generally do the whole season so let Dal start and Lo-fi finish the season. Or have them both.

The player draft is in July 26 so commitments from the “early adopters” would have to be well known before then

It shouldn't be an unpopular idea.

Lets face it, none of us know what is best for these guys, especially these experimental players, which is kinda what makes it exciting.

I think it is obvious he could be a top Center and be devastating if he learned the defence.

RTS was one of the first to commit. Not much has been been said around the circumstances and repercussions apart from union saying those that defect won’t be welcome back I think I saw? Zac Lomax’s future at eels seems up in the air and he’s pulled out of playing for Aussie, RTS still representing Samoa though

Fixing our defence is as important as adding speed to our backline. We really are a team that thrives on top of resolute defence. Being able to defend the sweeping attack that has extra numbers is key to making our team look top four or not

Think it’s been stated that he plays 10 or 12 in union? 12 at midfield is heading down the centre route, but like you say fullback looks an option as does five eighth. I agree too that forwards seem pretty good to add another to the mix
