Siale Pahulu (our 2024 Harold Matts center) was on the wing for them and looks like a faster Caleb Clarke.
Caleb Clarke was one of if not the fastest All Black, his track time before bulking for rugby was 10.7 and he beat that fast little Italian rugby player in speed drills. I highly doubt Siale would be faster. He lacks agility, but on a straight burn he is very fast.

Yeah I’m not talk about when they were 16 year olds I’m talking about now.

but Pahulu was also an Auckland 100m champion with St Kents

I just think he just holds his weight better the more he develops

Been thinking about how the bulldogs blew up their halves in preparation for the future and the potential for Mitch Woods to start the season for them and the direction we might look to go in. It took 1 game of nsw cup in 2016 for panthers to lock in Nathan Cleary as their future and he played first grade from there after as an 18 year old, he’s 27 now and you forget how long he’s been around. It didn’t happen overnight with Nathan and they needed to bring a proven winner in Maloney later to get the panthers to where they wanted to be but Cleary got his opportunity to develop in first grade. Jett obviously isn’t his brother and there probably won’t be another player like Nathan in a long time, but Jett is potentially further ahead than Woods at bulldogs too only having 6 nsw cup appearances to his name. Linnane signed for the longest out of the halves, with confirmation yet to come on Metcalf’s future past 2026. Do we look to prepare too for 2026?

So Jye and Jett both ready for 2026??
With TMM and Boyd we might be able to ease them into it with a game here and there

Webby appeared very cautious with Healey this year too, but ended up with 7 games including a finals appearance.

Hopefully goes on to be a main stay on the bench next year, with a few starts when Wade is out.

I could see a similar thing happen with Jett or Linnane next year - give them 2 or 3 games next year, a few times as 18th man to keep them around the team before hopefully getting a bigger, more consistent role in 2027

I didn’t see the last nsw cup match but read the undates that were coming in, sounded very much like Healey had a tendency to overplay his hand and his limited opportunities in first grade I’ve thought the same thing. Looks like he tries to create things, but perhaps needs to pick and choose his moments?
