You could be on to something there.

Since our last bye, we've scored 196 points and of those, 126 - or 65% - have been scored in the last 30 minutes of a game.

Some of those blokes need a rocket in that opening stanza. We won't beat many top 8 teams if we're leaving all our play to the last 30 min of a game
If we can throw some punches and then absorb theirs and come away ahead in points we can throw more and more to try make it a bridge or two too far to cross. Also target To'o who has been injured like our guys. Go high ball for someone, anyone to out jump him and then complain that his blockers should be marched. Advantage us.

Im starting to get pumped, less than 24 hours to go
The count down is on!

I know our backs are against the wall, but that seems to be the when we play our best.

  • Weve won 3/4 at Mt Smart for finals games.
  • It's Egans 150th

Penny to get an early lead, will be up 12-4 at half time.
We score first in the 2nd stanza but the joy is short lives as Penny score quickly to make it 18-10 with 25 to go.
Healey comes on off the bench and causes havoc, with Demi crashing over for one close to the posts. Healey making loads of meters around the ruck, 10 minutes to go and Tannah shapes like he's passing to Leka on the angle back in, but passes out the back to Charnz, who puts Dal in the corner. Boyd misses the kick.
We then have the worst 10 minutes wait if our lives, we get a few shit calls against us, a captains challenge that should be successful goes against us. Cleary goes for 2 2 pt field goals and doesnt get close. Wahs win by 2, Fish with 225 running meters and a shit load of tackles, MoM

Dare to dream fellas!
God I was stressed just reading that, I don't think I'm emotionally prepared for the game!

Yeah hard out. Come to think about it if our main game plan isn't to pepper their midget wingers versus Dal and Roger were missing a trick. Surely if we bomb 10 times and it's contested near the try line, we come up with it at least 3 or 4 times?
And with the conversation re: taking out attacking wingers in the media etc, we'd be mad not to do that as much as we can.
Aside from 'pass it to Leka' we don't have many more attacking options lol

We do have 'pass it to Pompey'

But what we also have is get runners hitting lines and vary who gets it on the chest. Short ball behind the defence. Classic Chitty short low bomb. And a Demetric graceful sidestep are all available if we earn the right to fire those shots.

What a depressing team thread. Aside from the team named.

The most liked posts are the ones saying we will definitely lose and we have no choice but to stick with selections and tactics that got us here and lose gracefully?

Where has that gotten us over the past two months? We had a pretty easy run home and have looked lost at sea.

And apparently the people who 'moan' and want change or to chance our arm a bit are the negative nancies? Please.

'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results'. Our results have not been good in quite some time.
I think the problem for that way of thinking is that Webby thinks only about building the team and structure he wants the warriors to be. Every game is about building towards that.
If you get to finals and throw that out the window it says to the players that what they have bought into doesn't work.

Not sure if we should be conservative and take the 2 points to get off the mark or get off the mark with a T R Y??

It's the old psychological thing of "Do we want to risk looking negative by taking the 2" versus "It's a very gettable 2. Let Tanah nail that. We get the ball back, rebuild the pressure."

Whatever, the boys should not insult the Penrith players better halves. That seems to gee 'em up a fair bit.

As to other games, if the Warriors win I want the Raiders to lose against the Broncos, as that's the only way a Warriors v Raiders GF can happen. Bulldogs tonight, Roosters tomorrow night.

Hoping CNK to do more distributions....good to see last week he actually did a pass and a kick instead of ball hog all night
depends on how gassed he gets trying to play the crash it up twice a set BS ..

I just put money on panthers 30+ ... as unless webby re-watches all the games with DWZ-Capewah edge we are going to get raped on that edge when SLOW to move capewah and DWZ "all I want is an intercept" let in 3x easy try's ..

Yeah I can understand that. I also think you cannot be so rigid in your thinking, there has to be some room for adjustments.

No shit Sherlock Barnett.

Forget the present day, Leka is in the conversation for all time unique players.

There is only one player I can think of in many decades of watching that played in the forwards, and that is the great Ellery Hanley, although Hanley was a converted back and Leka would be lucky to ever be half as good as the total Hanley package.

Other than that the only other comparison would be Steven Menzies but he was a different type of player and the only similarity is pace with evasion.....of which Leka has more of both.
Dunno about Leka being more evasive than Menzies, I think he's the most evasive forward ever.

Phil Gould said in his NSW training camps that Menzies was always the best at the 1 v 1 drills they did and that no one could lay a hand on him.

That said Leka is a special talent and I hope we can start utilising him more as he grows into his game.
