Been mentioned on here a few times now those Eels long range tries were "lucky". Struggling to see how when we had the oppertunity to shut all of them down,

Niukore and Boyd both had a shot on Addo Carr which they missed. Then Addo Carr has the speed to go the distance......thats not luck. Its the inherent attribute u get with that player that some coaches it seems prioritize over others.

Their 2nd try after that long break (not enough have mentioned Stowers Smith chase on that btw) our defensive line had actually recovered,. It was 2 PTBs later, we actually had numbers when Egan and Niukore both come up with a bad miss on Williams.

That Iongi try we had the oppertunity to wrap up Paulo before he offloaded, and it highlighted Iongi's athleticism to stand Charnze up like he was wearing concrete boots.....thats not luck....its skill and talent.....and in those moments they were just better than us.

officiating aside I wasn't unhappy with the performance.

The Eels ladder position doesn't reflect where they're at with Moses back and in good form. They (the Eels) completed at above 90%, scored a couple of good long range tries as well as a couple of opportunistic ones.

I thought the wahs consistently dominated contact and were able to make metres impressively most of the match. Moses' elite kicking undid a lot of hard work.

We know the team lacks a touch of class and can be frustratingly clunky on attack. I don't see that getting resolved in the next two weeks.. the frightening prospect of Panthers at home in week one of the finals looks likely. Maybe a change of scenery at Eden park isn't the worst option this year..

I know injuries are part of the game but you can't help thinking what might have been if Barney and Metcalf had stayed in the park.

They were very fortunate, and as I mentioned sometimes you might get lucky and get one of those, where tonight they managed all three.

Maybe we're arguing semantics but it was certainly fortunate for them.

In the 160+ matches that have have been played this year, how many 100m tries have there been? I would guess only the 1, which would be considered fortunate.

Paulos offload, in traffic. Again, lucky isn't the word but that was the 4th tackle after us really pinning them in their 30. It was extremely fortunate. Iongi still had loads to do, and finished brilliantly. But yeah, you don't usually get that many fortuitous tries in a game I reckon

Hi Guys, please remember to do the match ratings.

Please ignore the stats for now - it is being worked on and not accurate right now. Stats Fixed. Now shows important stats for each player. Stats in Green = Good, Red = Bad, Orange = OK

They put themselves in the position to get those tries though.

When's the last genuine speedster we had that could outrun a team?

When's the last time we had regular support play by the fullback?

We have a game plan that basically requires us to be spoonfed tries via repeated possession right on their line.
