NRL Gold Coast Titans

While I admire the attempt to shift the goalposts, success in Rugby League is determined by winning, not by likeability. Now while we can wax lyrical about modern methods, Des is a far, far, far more successful coach than Webby at this current point in time. I sincerely hope that changes and soon, but for now, it is what it is.
agree with your holistic view. But the trajectory for webby is good. 2 top 4 finishes in 3 years would be a pretty impressive start given that before him we only made the top 4 twice in the previous 27 years. It is also something that only Cleary and Bellamy have achieved in the last 3 years.

Influence is determined by “like-ability” and not what you accomplished 15 years ago or by breaking the door and throwing tantrums because the team lost

What makes it a basket case and what needs to change ?🤔

Doesn't the GC remind you of us during the 2012-2017 period where we consistently failed to make finals? We had some talented players during those years, including the entire NZ spine in 2017, yet we went through a series of coaches with different methods who all failed to get the best out of them. We know after the fact that the problem was the playing culture- Tomkins did an interview in the UK where he talked about how shockingly unprofessional the club was during his time here. Matty Elliott said similarly shocking things with his interview on Roo and Hammer.

No doubt that is also the problem on the GC. Only a complete overhaul of their roster will lead to long term success and unfortunately for them that process takes years. That's why they needed to look for an experienced coach who has experience doing rebuilds instead of the next cab off the rank.

Plus the Titans had a few goes to get established
Giants Chargers Seagulls all fails probably because of the other attractions

It's not just NRL. The other GC teams in other codes are struggling also. There might be something about the location that makes it hard to establish a successful sporting venture.

It's hard to judge based on the TV, but it would be really disheartening as a Tits player to be booed by your own home crowd. It's not just against us: I swear quite a few opposition fans that visit GC tend to dominate the crowd. My Newcastle friend said the same thing when they played there in round 3.
