Politics 🤡 Donald Trump

🤖 Thread Summary

j_p #206276 sharing a news article about New Zealand woman Sarah Shaw and her six-year-old son being detained by US immigration authorities. sup42 #206285 attributed the detention to racial profiling, claiming Shaw's olive complexion led to discriminatory treatment in what they called a "white supremacist fascist state." MrFrankWhite #206287 countered with a more procedural explanation, suggesting the issue stemmed from visa complications rather than racial bias, noting that Shaw's lawyer cited an "administrative error" with her temporary immigration document. juju #206296 challenged this assessment, arguing that detaining a mother and child for weeks over a clerical issue was excessive and indicated systemic problems with ICE procedures.

The conversation later shifted to broader Trump-related topics, MaybeTop8 #209467 sharing news about Trump firing DIA director Jeffrey Kruse following an Iran nuclear strike report. miket12 #209592 characterized Trump as "a spoiled brat who doesn't like being contradicted." More recently, MrFrankWhite #210608 introduced an unrelated incident involving Rampage Jackson's son Raja Jackson allegedly assaulting a wrestler during a live stream, suggesting it could escalate tensions in the US. However, sup42 #210627 and other users questioned the relevance of this incident to the Trump discussion thread, Noitall #210636 admitting uncertainty about the connection.

Her olive complexion is her problem in Klan country, the USA are a white supremacist fascist state.

New Zealand is harmless, everyone knows this. Some Kracker saw her brown eyes and olive skin and she got the Latino treatment.
Her problem is she doesnt have a green card or a spousal visa. Happens all the time, in fact happened here in Aus last month. She left the country and then tried to renter. The fact she was detained means she was either in the US illegally prior, or the kids are US citizens and she's not.

Shaw’s lawyer, Minda Thorward, told local media she had a temporary immigration document which allowed her to travel and re-enter the US, but there was an “administrative error” with it.

Oh you're an immigration expert now too.

In a normal functioning society you & a 6 year old child don't tend to get detained for weeks in a different state for a clerical issue with a visa. That's the kicker.

If you read the article it's due to the process of renewal taking longer for one part of a two part visa.

Sounds like the kid is detained illegally & ICE have failed in their obligations to lodge the case with the courts properly.

Don’t have to be an immigration expert to know about citizenship, green cards and visas, you simply have had to have travelled to the US and educated yourself. If you get denied entry to the US, you get sent back home, not detained. So that tells you its far more serious.

In fact it’s the average punters lack of understanding of visa’s that leads to situations like this.

Hmmm who to believe? - the organisation whose illegal and unethical conduct is detailed extensively, causing mass protests by law abiding American citizens across the country.

Or the mother trying to get home to her home and children, whose family have detailed the clerical issue with her visas.

That's a tough one for people with Goggin's brain.

Not one ounce of sympathy towards the mother and her family & hypothesising there must be something nefarious

While defending American border control under this new regime...

I pity them. How long are they trapped on the ship with you?

Anyway have a good time bro, don’t worry about us, we'll try to keep the economy going and stay solvent until you get back.
Been gone 2 weeks and back today. Time to sober up after those free drinks packages!

Talked yesterday to a Aussie couple doing their 85th cruise. I wasn’t jealous (much) but then they said they were Panthers fans and I realised they had the perfect life.

Trump gone from he can end this war in his first day in office to now I may just let them fight it out-which translates to I can’t stop this war. He seems to get outplayed at every junction, negotiating on behalf of Ukraine wasn’t his to be negotiating but he looks weaker for not getting a resolution
