Lewis Dodd seems to have been given a super rough deal. Has played only 68 minutes in the NRL as a half this year and they've told him he's free to leave.
Also they've had massive injuries all year, so those minutes he's had are even shitter than they normally would.

Has anyone actually seen him play, and know if he's actually any good? He can't be that bad surely

Few teams interested in this guy and knights open to letting him go apparently. Centre and winger quite tall and speedy. They also open to letting go of young outside back Wilson De Courcey and fullback Connor Votano

I have only seen him in the trials, where to be honest he was quite quiet. But overall, Souths, even without the injuries, haven't been great this year.

The discussion on this signing previously has been similar to "Well Wayne was on the way there they must have consulted him" or "Wayne must have approved it".

There was a clip during the off-season, Bennett comes in to see all of the players and asks Dodd "who are you", "oh your the Englishman". It was sort of put at the time of Wayne being Wayne. How much mind games have been going on with him over the year?

How much coaching have they put into him?

I suspect Bennett came in and looked at their roster and cap position. He likely wants to go to the market and decided quite early that Dodd's money needed to be freed up. Bennett, like most coaches coming in, either brings players with him or hits the market. As much as Russell Crowe thinks he will help set up their club at his age, Bennett is looking more at the term of his contract.

I was looking at Margot Robbie as a replacement for my ex
Hearing that Souths might be looking at Metcaffe as a replacement for Cody Walker.
It’s been clarified it’s just a journo making up stories
Nothing to see here
I m looking at catching Megan Markle to fix my finances and reduce my intellectual worries as she will do my thinking for me

This seems like a no brainer for us. Please footy gods

It has nothing to do with Simmonson being overlooked by Ryles.

It has all to do with Simmonson receiving good dollar offers from clubs just before he did his acl. Then he got injured and the offers were pulled.

The the Eels offered him a lifeline by giving him a long term deal on lower coin, and Simmonson took it, knowing he needed stability and a guaranteed income.

What i think has happened, is that other clubs saw he was playing well post injury, and his management have put the feelers out so Simmonson can get more dollars.

For mine, Simmonson spat the dummy. We signed him in good faith, knowing his knee now has a higher chance of rupture, but now he wants more.

Unless we get something in return, let him sit in reserve grade

Thought this was an interesting post on the eels forum most recent. Good chance this is how it played out I reckon. Seen on there that his Mrs is in Queensland and his business partner too, perhaps titans is a possibility?

Sure, but just because they did him a favour, they dont own him. They arent even playing him so any story about keeping him is dogshit. This would be different if he was playing for min wage and someone offered more. But this reeks of not wanting others to play with your toys.

Find it hard to believe the eels cant find a 5th string winger
