How many games has carrying TMM been beneficial over the last few months though? He’s covered a variety of positions that Healey can’t and CNK looks broken and returning too early from injury

Good points but starting him at 6 has proven not to work in FG .Remember outside SJ ?
Sure CNK is busted or appears to be. As a stop gap put TT to the wing & TMM to FB . We had to switch him again last week at 9 with CHT.
Too much disruption for mine anyway. Not good for him or the team.

I’ve mentioned it on the recruitment thread but I’m not at all sold on Tanah Boyd. May be harsh but I didn’t like the trusting the process instagram post earlier in the year that I took as a jab at not getting an opportunity, which was ridiculous with Metcalf being apart of the victories he had been up to that point. I’ve been interested too how he’s never once mentioned Metcalf and the unfortunate circumstances that he’s wearing the jersey. I see that look in him that was there at titans of a player that wants no part in the big moments that SJ and Metcalf gravitate towards. I still like TMM at 7 and CHT at 6, but I do wonder if TMM tends to follow his own script rather than what Webster wants at times? I still think the club is crazy to let him go. Just my opinion

Sure mate .And my opinion for what its worth has & always has been our attack as a unit falls down when hes at 6 in FG.
CHT can defend in the front line TMM cant again in FG.

Was tough to get a real indication with him taking a back seat to SJ at 7 and wonder if he just sat back because of the dominant character SJ is? He looked good at 6 with Boyd at 7 at the beginning of the season in nsw cup, but a different level to first grade admittedly. I’ve been really impressed with TMM’s defence, he’s obviously worked really hard at it with him tackling at a career best 93%, across a variety of positions too, even in the middle at times. I still think TMM and CHT are our best offensive and defensive halves pairing

To be fair, CHT only sits 4 try assists behind the leader. In fairness to Boyd too, he has 2 from 3 games too but yeah, Metcalf has been a real loss

Yeah I am not a great fan of stats myself.Dont take a lot of stuff into consideration.
However it is what it is & he just doesnt seem to gel with our attack @ 6 for whatever reason.

People forget that SJ was a very dominant halfback, up there with Cleary. Those players always have a 6 that takes the back seat.

I thought there was a good balance between Metcalf and CHT. CHT has been scoring and on the try assist leaderboard for most of the season to go with Metcalf’s X factor speed

Great in Cup yes
NRL is a totally different scenario
Wasn't working last week even for just a small time.
Look the guys a good footballer but playing NRL at 6 doesn't work for us.
If we have to play him due to loss of players he played good at fullback in the preseason from memory
Slots into fullback and TT to the wing
Not ideal but at this time of the year we don't have much other options

Re Tmm yes that’s what I think - he doesn’t always follow the game plan rigidity ( perhaps- I don’t really know)

Hughes signed by Storm for four years at age 30
Tmm 30 shortage of halves in nrl and we are going to punt him
Hanson ain’t going to get there
Jett is a year away
Sure Tmm is no superstar but his versatility in covering five positions is valuable
Anyway what would I know

You took that the wrong way. Boyd is the ultimate clubman, thats not the issue. The issue is he good enough?

I’m not convinced on either aspects of that post. Very interesting to see Jett Cleary promoted when considering the bulldogs signing and playing Galvin so late in the season

Judging from Webbys history I think there is zero chance of Jett playing 1st grade this year

I would have thought so too, but does beg the question of why he’s been promoted? He’s been training around the team in nsw cup in recent times so why not leave it how it was? The recruitment thread now shows him with a top 30 contract this year and a supplementary contract in 2026 and 2027. Surely he’s top 30 for the remainder of his contract?
