Healey should have been on the bench last week especially when Egan is injury prone. Tmm at 14 is a complete waste
Egan has only missed 1-2 games all season, Healey is a much bigger waste on the bench.

People are overreacting due to Egans early injury.

Fact of the matter is, Te Maire covers 1, 6, 7 very well. Covers centres averagely and covers 9/13 poorly.

Healey covers 9 very well. Thats it. He would barely get 20 mins if Egan is fit the entire game. Thats a wasted bench spot.

I wouldn't mind Healey taking over for 30 or 40 minutes in the middle of the game. As you say 20 minutes is a wasted bench spot. Bring him on for 15 to 20 minutes each side of half time. That gives a rested Egan 2 cracks at it while he's fresh and doesn't wear him out doing an 80 minute slog. And gives Healey a fair shot at bringing something to the game.
It also changes things in the middle once the opposition settle in.
I think the hooking role is Egans and he is easily our number one. But I do think he could do with a hand.
But I'm guessing Egan is out this week after the concussion last week? If so that forces Webbys hand a bit

My thoughts originally were that we should play Lussick and Healey one or two weeks on the bench each while the other played cup. Gives Healey first grade experience, keeps both players getting regular game time through cup and gives Egan the much needed 20-30 rest each game.

TMM has worked out pretty well with the in game injuries we have had recently and with Capewell playing center was probably the right option for his versatility.

This is more feasible if Capewell is back in the pack.

I actually feel bad for Webster. He has taken a roster that lets face it is not top 4 on paper to the top 4. He then gets to see us perform like that in the weekend. When I heard about Tohu, I actually posted somewhere on here that I thought we would be bottom 3. I am still surprised that we are in the top 4.

At the beginning of the year we had a quality pack with fast defensive line speed and had some effort players like Capewell and Rocco that would chase the kicks in the corner. We had very limited x-factor which was our rookie half and Leka and to a lesser extend Demi but he mainly plays a middle role. Somehow he gotten us to win 12 times. It is a limited and fairly boring game style but it suits the team he has.

I also see plenty of people post that we should recruit this player or that player but the reality is that we as a club have always struggled to get players over here. Sure we get the odd players which we can all name but we are not a destination of choice for NRL players. This why Webster does not have fast outside backs. We will have to rely on our pathways, take a chance on a NSW Cup player or hope a Kiwi NRL player gets homesick.

As to the gameplan. They had a preseason and practice every week to play a certain way. To change it radically at this stage I just could not see it happening. Next year though if LM is still unavailable then a Boyd/Linnane looks interesting. Linnane seem to be quick off the mark. I would also have TT at fullback. Would love to see him play a role like Papenhuyzen does for the Storm or Drinkwater does for the Cowgirls. CNK would be in the Centres as our current ones Pompey aside seem to be broken most of the time.

Webster is a quality coach in my view. We just seemed to have run out of steam. That could change as a week is long time in the NRL but the team looks broken and tired atm.

After round 1 in Vegas it looked like it was going to be a long uneventful season, but the turnaround was immense. If I recall correctly in 2023 we had an awful home loss to the Bunnies that nobody expected, but bounced back to win a few in a row after that.

We just thrashed Raiders at Crocker’s 300th and then smashed the Eels, should have beaten the bunnies but it rained like crazy

Regarding TMM I would much rather have had Healey on the bench last week 🙄
TMM offered nothing off the bench
Third man in on defence and a little break from a weak arsed tackle. Nothing.
We were going okay until Egan went down.
Healey would have been the perfect fit to carry on with it.

I think what has been interesting in the recent losses we have had, we have had injuries which messed up the structure of the team.

Panthers:
- DWZ Injured, TMM at center (I think)

Broncos:
- CNK injured, TMM to Fullback
- Luke Metcalf injured, TMM to half, RTS to fullback

Titans:
- Egan injured, TMM to hooker, then CHT to hooker TMM to halves

I think in hindsight its easy to say we should of had hooker cover against the Titans, but TMM provides both hooker, and backline cover.

The more I am thinking about it CHT seems the best prototype for the bench, half, center, hooker and at a pinch backrow cover.

As I posted his (TMM ) only attacking play was from a weak arsed tackle. IMO he is not suited to 6 .His best games have been at 7 .
We were doing OK Saturday until Egan went down.Healey coming on would have helped/maintained the momentum .
Instead we regressed obviously.
How many games has carrying TMM been beneficial over the last few months though? He’s covered a variety of positions that Healey can’t and CNK looks broken and returning too early from injury
