Anything but a win against 17th placed Titans is unacceptable especially at home.
But that 666 is still clearly imprinted, its the Nrl so anythings possible, I'm expecting a big game from Dallin today hopefully he's got sticky fingaz and sured up defense.

I see why people are concerned about the speed the Titans have out wide but in reality games are won in the middle. I think Warriors have a clear advantage there, especially with the bench sharpshooters. So, boring old yardage, completions and field position.
it's just bad memories from our last game. 66-6 and all. I went to that game and I still have nightmares from LKP streaking down DWZ's wing.

But I agree that this time will probably be different. We've done a really good job this year of beating faster teams by dominating the middle this year. Dolphins, Cows and Broncs game at home in particular come to mind. Suffocate the tits through the middle and don't give AJ, Campbell and co any space at all and we will grind them out over the 80 minutes.

Tits are a poor man's version of the Broncs. You get them into a grind and it's only a matter of time before they go for the Hail Mary and do something stupid. Sometimes you don't even have to wait that long. That penalty they gave away last week to give up the lead against the tigers by not packing the scrum was just comical.

Games are not won or lost on paper but on the battlefield. In front of a home crowd you would think we have the team and will to win.
We are also down on key personnel.
Onwards and upwards.

With the Eels knocking over the Broncos nothing is guaranteed. 2pts is all I want to keep 4th place secure
Expect nothing but a loss people!

We are at the point of the draw that most concerned me this year.

Back to back games vs the Titans and Dolphins.

At the start of the year I had us losing this game and next week.

Mid season I still had us losing to the Titans and Dolphins.

The reasons are obvious, both have speed where we do not, both keep the ball live where we struggle with second phase, I know we have never lost to the Dolphins but that is not the point, a loss is always a game away, you cannot beat a club like them forever.

But focussing on this game, I had us losing one of the two Titans clashes (just being realistic) and my sense was they would catch us out in the first meeting and hopefully we would adjust and get even the second meeting.

I cannot see us winning against them twice. So a win today would be wonderful, that would at least get us the victory we need of our two meetings out of the way and reduce our number of wins needed to remain a top four chance.

Hand on heart I hate to post it but I still have us finishing fifth or sixth place. Most of that is the heat coming from below us from teams that are on paper better than us....the rest is the very real peril that the Titans and Dolphins, and Manly represent in our final run. Bad news collective. Dogs too....some think we have an easier draw, not me, I would rather we were playing the Sharks or Raiders or Roosters today, true story.

Please win Warriors.

You're being pessimistic, not realistic. If you don't mind me saying, your expectations for the team in general are just way too low. I think you've been predicting us dropping out of the four for weeks now.

Any "realistic" observer would have us winning both tits games this year. We don't deserve to be playing finals if we drop either of those games. As for Phins, we've already beaten a stronger version of the team that will play us next week. With the home advantage, that's another game we should be winning.

No doubt we'll slip up somewhere on the run home. But I'd think that it happens against the Dogs or Manly last round if webby decides to rest our players. We should be disappointed if the slip up occurs in any of our home games against teams outside the 8. We're currently 9-0 against teams outside the 8.

I don't feel negative about our team at all.

Quite the opposite.

How close was last week?

Reality check, struggling teams right now aim up to keep their careers alive and feed their families. We are at that time of the season.

This is not the first half of the year when you can gut the weaklings because they haven't committed to doing the work.

Did you watch the Eels beat the Broncos with both eyes open or the Dragons almost roll the dogs last week, or Manly roll the Storm, Newcastle lose to the Warriors in four seconds?

It is danger time bro, not negative, it is fecking hard to get through this period without losing a handful of games.

I know we can win today, but so do the Titans and they will use the ball and use speed. A lot will come down to our edge defence.....simple metric, their edge attack is greater than our edge defence.

The broncos lost last night.
If we win -we should we will be six points up on our fifth placed rival.

We will finish 4th -trust me.

As for today let us pray the Webster cool aid has been sprayed on Capewell and DWZ or a last minute swapsy for Capewell-thats the big hole- but you know the Webster cool aid works -most of the time.

If we are serious about challenging for top 2 and a home prelim, we need a big win today to close the for against gap to the dogs given we play them for 2nd in a couple of weeks.

This NEEDS to be a 40 point win. We need a statement for a bunch of reasons.

1. Say bye bye to Dessie. Thanks for the memories but take your horse down to old town road fella.

2. Avenge 2024. 66 points conceded to this mob at their place was a low point, as was losing on Anzac Day (thanks Tannah)…. A 40+ point drubbing squares the ledger a bit until we pump them again at their place in a few rounds time.

3. Erin and Tannah to give them a f$&k you performance. Being values is everything. Erin to get a meat pie this week and Tannah to step up a gear from the Knights game, have several try assists, run the cutter perfectly and throw in a drop goal to put last week to bed.

4. Say thanks to Fozzie. Playing our best most ruthless game honours him. Then we share a beer with a legend.

5. Send a message to the comp - especially the Phins and the Dogs who are next on the tasting platter. We’ve a had a couple of recent performances where our forwards haven’t hit the mark. Panthers, Broncos and Knights. If I’m JFH, I want to bring back the swagger we had when we played the Phins at Suncorp when our boys were serving them a pile of smack talk and we bullied them. Let’s bring that back.

6. I just want to see this team get feral and have a ruthless performance both defensively and offensively. I want the comp starting to fear us, not just respect us.

Today we get another shot at an 80 minute performance.

Time to bury the Titans and slap them with their wooden spoon until they beg for mercy. I want them to feel what we did last year at their place.

Then do it again in a few weeks at their place.

For and against, let’s go.

Wahs by 40+

(Don’t let me down and have another knights game - that would piss me off)

lucky for us that three of the architects of that devastation: Verrills, Kini and LKP are not playing today.
Yes, plus big Tino and David Fifita. We should be too good for them through the middle, our pack should dominate.

They have a dangerous backline, so if we get a fair suck of the Sav from the Ref and we stick to our game plan, I am picking a good win for us.

Amazing we are flying so high at the business end of the year with Barny and Luka out. Credit to Webby, he has made us a proper team.
