Pick Your Team Warriors v Titans - [Round 21, 2025]

As the ladder stands right now, Broncos & Penrith are the immediate threats to the Warriors finishing 4th. Wahs need to win 6/7 to cement 4th, so can afford to drop one match. The good news is, Broncos have to play Storm (twice) and Penrith still have Bulldogs, Raiders, and Storm. Some potential losses for both teams which will give the Wahs more breathing room. If the Wahs drop two games that'll bring Manly and Cronulla into the picture as threats to catch the Warriors.

I would like to see some changes we may have won ..but had that been against a top team, we would have been pumped 20-30+pts if we want to be in the mix in the finals .. we need to get back to the way we played against the sharks... why I would like to see Healy have a crack and give egan a rest .. I would like to see how the team runs with the young guy firing the ball out ... DWZ must be pushed to NSW Cup ..he's not FG material had his chance time to swing the axe or we will suffer ..much better ...why can't CNK cover wing ? I know he's played FB but IMHO TT got more to offer at the back ? and CHK too good to not be in the team ..

Nuikore is a bench prop at best -- hard run up the middle big D hits
Ford isn't a prop ...like Capewah he's a tackle bot playing big minutes around the middle
Capewah too slow at centre esp when you have him alongside DWZ WTF he doing now on D
Personally on attack I'd like to see Leka spend more time on a edge in the centre position ...I could see him breaking tackles outwide setting up the likes of CNK/TT/RTS..so maybe even LEKA at centre for the Tits game..how much of a beast could he be there

so for me if I was selecting the team for the Tits

1, TT
2, CHK
3, LEKA
4, Pompey
5, RTS
6, CHT
7, Boyd
8, JFH
9, Egan
10,Marata
11, Capewell
12, FORD
13, Clark
14, HEALY
15, Demi
16, Laban
17, TSS

I think something along these lines ...I'd give Laban some time in the first as well ..prob for Marata ..Demi for JFH 20 ea half , Healy/Egan half each etc lets see how the team rolls with each hooker.. I would want CHT to be more involved running plays/kicks ...the best we look is when we have two play makers not just a focus on Boyd having to drive the attack... TSS to come on for any forward looking gassed ...like FORD or Capewah Clark ...if players are gassed better to give them a rest ... not having DWZ would save least one try ...

Hopefully webby sees that running big metres doesn’t win you games. Scoring points and defending does
What a bizarre post. To completely disregard an important part of the game makes no sense.

Penriths last 4 premierships included Dylan Edwards and To’o running huge meters to get them in good positions and start their sets well. Can you guess how many try assists Dylan Edwards contributed? He doesn’t make the top 50 in any year. The knock you seem to have on CNK is his try involvements.

This year there’s 1 FB in the top 10 for try assists. Our 2 halves this year are both in the top 25, even with Metcalf now out. If our halves are laying on tries isn’t that to our benefit that we don’t need to rely on our fullback to run huge meters AND create tries? And there’s no way you can say CNK isn’t good on defence. His ability to be in the right spots with the right reads to snuff out opposition attack is fantastic.

Your grudges against CNK and Egan must be personal to say stuff like that.

Anyway
1. CNK
2. DWZ
3. Leiataua

Mate it’s nothing personal, but we never struggle to make metres. We struggle to score points. We are the number 1 team when it comes to spending time in the opposition 20.

Been looking at this part of the draw all season with trepidation.

I have us losing one of the two games vs the Titans, I cannot see us getting past their speed and their drive to pay back the Warriors for years of humiliation.

I think we will be doing well to win one game of the two, so it might as well be this week.

Very worried about how good the Titans attack is, how crisp their ball movement to their wings is.

The Knights ambushed us, the Titans will be licking their lips this week, absolutely thrilled that we are playing them, and they will bring the Ambush ten times over what the Knights did.

I do not give a crap about talk about how useless the Titans are. Lets not fail to understand what they think about us, they not scared of the Warriors anymore.

They know the Warriors struggle with second phase, they know that is their bread and butter game, and they know we don't have more than one out and out game breaker in our team....but worst for us....they know we can't stop their attack.

CNK at the back if he's fit. I like Tuapiki but he's not big enough to defend as the last line of defence and while he looks good scooting around with ball in hand nothing ever really comes of it. We seem to be using our fullback often on the 4th tackle and TT gets stopped as soon as he hits the defence. CNK has more impact there

Dallin has to go. He's just becoming a liability. I don’t know if Webby will make the call this week but surely it has to come. TT to take over as a fill in on the right wing while other options are explored

Leaiatua or Capewah at right centre depending on fitness. I'm probably leaning towards Ali but quite honestly I think we need to look at longterm replacents for our right side backs. Capes gives his all but as we saw yesterday he can get burned for speed. Ali and Rocco are too injury prone to be relied on at the moment.
I like the idea of Leka at right centre and I wouldn't put it past him to be a huge success but there's so much more to the position than scoring amazing tries. I dont know much about him pre first grade. Does he have the organised defensive skills to play the position?

As for the rest of the team rinse and repeat.
Maybe Healey to replace Martin at number 14. A 20 minute spell each half between him and Egan would certainly create some difference in the attack and stop the opposition getting complacent on defence. And if it doesn't work he can be hooked

The Tirans aren't going to be an easy win

Yeah unfortunately they were just holding TT up and driving him back every time. 88m total for the game, with 53 of those coming from kick returns shows he struggled to make inroads. For the game style we play you need the back 3 to be making metres. The only advantage this week is that if he is still required, it is a day game which suits his running a lot more.

RTS has been Brian To’o like the last few weeks. Hard to put down and getting the sets rolling brilliantly

I agree re both RTS and TT. I do think TT had at least two remarkable try saves however. Brilliant, that kid is all heart and it is clear to me that he has a sternum or rib issue. So brave for a small guy. Small metres but some match winning plays. PS I usually prefer CNK but TT is slowly making me question my thinking.

You're not wrong. If The Titans find the gaps that The Knights were finding they won't let us off.

Yeah mate, I mean we're currently sitting 4th on the ladder what's there to complain about.
Without Cnk earlier on we would've struggled a bit.

Leka use to play centre, and second row, I wonder if we switched him sometimes on attack to centre how he would go. Seeing him with a bit of space and a chance to wind up could improve our attack. Just crazy thinking....
I thought Leka filled in well at centre that one game. Yet last few weeks we put TMM there instead? Is it just to avoid foward burnout in game when we cop an injury?

Can't believe Taine managed to stop that 4 on 1 break!

Some great try savers highlighted here:
