This now sets up an interesting next week. Manly play Dogs. Roosters play Storm. We play Tits back home who will likely be without Tino. If we win and Storm lose, we could be 3rd next week. If the dogs also lose, we'd be tied 2nd. You'd think based on this week, those two outcomes aren't out of the realm of possibility. So this win might allow us to go higher rather than just be on defense trying to fend off Penrith and Broncs for 4th.

Touch wood. Right now, least this post curses us…

Our form seems to be back to R3 again, Boyd’s 3rd game next, bit nervous for every game from here on even against bottom teams that we should be putting away, hope they gel over the next month and time for the finals

TMM as 14 looks like a genius move now

that means there's a lot to room to grow? We were very controlled last week, consistent with our performance between our first and second byes. This game was not so great, almost a replica of our Campbelltown game where we tried to lose as well. We will grow over the next few games. We're not the only top 4 side to be a little off this weekend.

Leka was planted behind boyd, quite side on, looking ready for the charge down. Huge huge 1%er because if he’s facing forward he probably doesn’t get to strife back to collect the ball in time. Behind the kicker/onside all day.

The kid is a competitor. Massive win. Feels good to get there.

Feel for tannah but he’s a back up half, he’s doing ok and had some moments. He’s obviously just yippy.

No easy games in the nrl.

And let’s be honest. Marzhew was held. Knights should never have been in that situation.

First off hats off to the Knights. That was pretty gutsy with what they apparently had been going through in the last 48 hiours.

Estatic with the win but shit we were poor in a lot of areas. Just shows even this far into a season there's still a shit tonne of work on's and things to improve.

Red zone attack was pretty impotent for the most part. Dominating in that area for long periods but rarely threatning. Think missing Metcalf's ability to create something from nothing was highlighted 2nite, and the jury's still out on the Boyd/CHT dynamic. Feel both are just straight up and down and work better with a ball runner or a more creative half to partner them.....early days yet tho. Boyd will want to own those moments a lot better than he did in the last 10 minutes tho.

Gone into bat for DWZ (and wingers in general really) when they get sucked off their wing because at times they absolutely have to. His reads tho have just deteriorated to the point this game i thought they were pretty disgraceful. Gotta question what work the coaching staff are doing with him cause there seems to be no improvement week after week in that regard. Zero trust in his insides and zero communication.....a good early read can shut down potential numbers or overlaps......however he's presenting those oppertunities when there was none.

Leka saved our arses in that one, what a try.....that was clutch SJesq.....had flashbacks of that famous Sharks try. To keep him grounded tho i hope they celebrate that tryline saver he made on Fletcher Hunt just as much......if he carries on his trajectory with that sort of off the ball effort is what will make him next level.
Him and Demetric have been our best the last 2 weeks, the young boys are leading the way,

2 points in the bank.....identify the areas we need to get better, flush, and move on to the next one.

Got as far as reading page 4 of this thread so no doubt been covered plenty already however same problem as last week - our right edge defence is completely shot, a decent side will thrash us. As has been his entire career, DWZ offers great finishing & otherwise is a huge liability. We need to replace his sorry arse before next season. Now the positive - surely Leka is a lock for rookie of the year, what is this kids ceiling as he matures???

To be fair to Dallin who had a shocker, they had a halftime talk and we pretty much shut them down in the second half? Much better jamming Knights did try repeatedly on that edge. Think coach or Webby said to be aggressive in the 2nd half, he was in no man’s land in the first half. Maybe cape had a sore knee and sore throat. Was TMM playing left centre at the end? Hope they sort it out because next man up is Kosi who’s gonna do the same thing 😂

Sure, would've been nice for Boyd to kick that last penalty to win the game and boost his confidence, but if he had, Leka would not have had that special moment to show us what a special player he is. He's bloody quick for a back-rower when he gets the chance to stretch out. Plus the step, all while carrying the ball in one hand. Still can't get it into my head that he's only 19.
