Thought we were the better team first 20 + minutes but couldn’t convert the points, had the Egan try been scored we probably kill the knights spirit and go on with it. Couple of big calls well and truely gave momentum to the knights and they grew an extra leg.
We did well to wrestle it back but didn’t seem to be able to get that finishing play, was close to turning it off a few times in the last 10 mins but glad I didn’t. Sure was a get out of jail win but on the balanced we’ve had our share of unlucky losses and history books will show a win- doesn’t matter how they come

Let's be honest. What we saw this week was Parra really give it to Canberra. Dragons outplay the Dogs but have their hearts crushed at the last moment. And then Newcastle really give it to us tonight. These lower ranked teams are going to play the games of their lives against top 4 teams. We, like Dogs and Canberra, almost got caught out tonight. Melbourne did.

This is going to be the dynamic for the rest of the year. This was a wake up call of what can happen if we drop off even a little bit. Tits, Phins, Dragons, Parra. They will all be gunning for us. We can't do this again because we will be embarrassed by someone. I'd rather use up our 4 pt buffer on the dogs game then one of the minnows.

Good luck to Canberra. Knights are going to be nuisance value for them next week. Their season is now literally over if they lose next week in Canberra. If they play like they did tonight and Canberra continue to play as bad as they did yesterday, they could be in for a surprise. Gonna be my boilover tip for next week.

All of the top 4 teams had a bit of a scare.

The Raiders survived it the best and the worrying part for them was mainly restricted to the first half.

The Storm lost.

Like us the Bulldogs had to do it late.

I know there was a lot of dicussion before the game about their situation. Putting a score on would have been great. But like a lot of people said there are no easy/given games in this competition.

Fair call. I do wonder though why most years the tailenders fade more at the end of the year, but every 4 or 5 years they make it tight.
