Leka can be forgiven. Due to his age & inexperience. Pompey in a daze and 2 metres in front of the kicker is inexcusable. Hes been around long enough to know to keep focus.
Yeah that last Leka drop, tbh im not sure why Egan went that short side with what looked like an off the cuff rushed play, when he had a big line set up for shape out the left.

Thought Raiders nullified Egan well by controlling the ruck most of the night.

Raiders are the team I want us too be strong forward pack with fast/strong backs crazy they’re second and haven’t had a bye yet

Back to the drawing board our backs need to put in more or sign Joey manu and slot him straight into the side either way it’s good for us to reset

Leka was a big part of that loss. And even when he wasn't losing the ball he was getting outmuscled in the collisions. Looked like a teenager against men. Hopefully he learns from this. Probably a good game for him to have a nightmare as I am not convinced we would have won even without his mistakes. There was no way we were scoring a try in the second half. Partly due to wet conditions. And partly because it looked like they knew our play book and had studied video on us. They seemed to shift to our shapes even before we got the shapes set ourselves. They weren't much better than us at getting across the stripe either. Hard night in the conditions for point scoring with the dew.

Surely Raiders were off side a lot tonight. Their line speed looked suspicious.

First one he dropped it cold.

Second one he got a head clash then lost the ball

The last one the pass to him wasn’t on. Yes he dropped it but Canberra had two defenders on him. Bad decision making from Metcalf.

We never looked dangerous in their red zone. Their defensive line had little trouble adjusting to our attack.. That is the biggest problem reflected by our inability to find holes throughout the game

Leka is the least of our problems

Few guys had poor games today
Pompey has been in fine form so can forgive an off Day,
DWZ seems a bit down on confidence, probably has a game or 2 grace to get it right.
Ali let himself down and will need to turn it around quickly with competitors for his spot returning soon.
CHT I think might need to swap with TMM to see if it ignites our attack, few silly errors and a lot of meh again tonight.
Leka and Demetric might need to be managed with cup stints, long season and a tough ask for rookies but they’ve started to diminish their impact a bit last couple of weeks.
Highly doubt Webby will make changes though, he has his favourites and doesn’t make changes unless he’s forced

People talking about our attack being rushed, I don’t agree. We settled plenty of times mid field setting up lots of great platforms for our halves.

We just completely lack shape or structure to create gaps. Metcalf is a great solo opportunist but has only 4 try assists all year. I actually like CHT’s kicking game in the 20 but again his strength is opportunistic kicking. Opportunistic rather than breaking down defences.

Webster seems to ignore practising attacking plays and we obviously focus 100% on defence to win games.

Against bulldogs or storm if we play that stupid were gonna get beat, we played stupid, smart footy in wet conditions we win
The dumb individual moments really came down to a lack of leadership on the field. Missing JFH and Barney was huge. We've normally been calm and collected during such clutch moments. The young forwards will learn from this game. JFH and Barney back this week helps.

There was a lot to like about that game. It was a tough arm wrestle. I am really surprised the Raiders didn't wind up with more people in the bin, and the CNK bin was rough.

But still, a loss is a loss and we were probably due one. Hopefully that lights a fire under some asses and we come back stronger next week.

Probably avoiding shapes to conserve energy for defense lol

Always tough when they started falling off tackles and require us to win based on a task we haven’t done much homework on 😂
