Cant believe people are wanting to blow up a possible future dynasty for maybe 3-4 extra wins. TMM isnt winning us the prem this year.

100% CHT and Metcalf are two fairly young guys who could spend 10 years together if we're patient and lucky.

I actually think TMM is a better 7 than Metcalf. But as he should with his time and experience. I also think hes a good option at 1, but CNK is killing it and Taine is next. But if getting a consistent halves paring for the next few years is Webby's plan then I can can see it.

If today was finals I wouldn’t trust CHT and Metcalf. No reason too going off past experience. Because there isn’t any…

TMM is capable of pulling out a good game when it’s needed. Also capable of shitting the bed but no more than the other two

Round 19 and 20 last year. Narrow losses to Bulldogs and Canberra. Not good at all.

All this discussion about who should or shouldn’t be in the 17 is a good sign if it’s a 50/50 call for a pathways club. LM will almost certainly get injured this season, given his history. Our second-rowers will likely pick up injuries or get called up for Origin. As teams wear thin throughout the season, I can see us eking out some wins we otherwise wouldn’t, thanks to this depth.

At 7?

From memory, he ironically (in refrence to people saying he would of won us round 1) went missing against the Raiders in Round 20 last year and made several errors that let the Bulldogs back into the game in Round 19. So, in two out of the six or eight games he played, he performed pretty poorly— which isn’t a bad ratio at all IMO.

But conversely, if we make the finals with this team, playing like we saw in the preseason, and then make the right moves in the offseason, we are a real shot. We have a LOT of young guys who could benefit with some finals footy. Look at Penrith 2018/2019/2020. I know its not the same, but still.

It’s not a given with Metcalf either with his previous injury issues…

Then: Metcalf could move to Aussie; J Cleary could be ready in 2 years, Hughes might want to come home, etc

Plan ahead but anything can happen.

I just think he's had 3 games at 7, and only 29 games total in the NRL.

I’m not going to argue which halves combo is better….. but I think playing CHT and LM now is better for the squad long term. Our least experienced halves are getting reps in and if there are any injuries, we have more experienced halves ready to step in.
