Berry can't be considered the incumbent. Not with such a large layoff.

Ali can make himself undroppable and it will be Berry coming back through grade

I read today that Berry may be back soon. Has recovered quickly.

Great signing, assuming the money is right. Perfect player to have as cover when the starting 2-5 are inevitably injured.

He’s solid but pretty limited offensively. Got exposed a bit on high kicks last season if I remember correctly. His goal kicking is a nice bonus though.

As depth he’s fine, not sure we’ve got enough talent around him to succeed as a regular starter though.

Pompey is a better mover than he is given credit for. He has a pretty good shimmy. Our backs weren't exactly blessed with space last year.

He has no glaring weakness, and no out and out strengths

If it were any other club apart from the Sharks then yeah ya get jaded by these visits, however the Warriors are seen by Sharks players as a genuinely attractive life experience.
We have such a good reputation for showing Cronulla players a good time. Chad came back twice, Metcalf is getting the dream treatment with his legs and a shot at halfback here.

Barnett while not an Ex Shark certainly would give the recruits a pep talk about Origin pathways from NZ and what happened for his career when he crossed the ditch.

Hard to know what is in another mans mind, however given our track record on the whole this potential signing is one the Warriors certainly should feel confident about. This level of signing certainly isn't overreach from our lot.

The Sharks will have cap pressure after the AFB rushed signing.....

agree, I think we are known as a good club to come to, as we look after the players, i.e. ronnie v shoulder operation which we paid for and didn't have to, then letting afb go for family reasons, zyon go to the doggies, let lane go to the eels etc, etc.

A seasoned first grader, from all reports a great trainer, he's bought into the system and wants to be here. I'm sure he wouldn't be on much more than minimum, this seems like a good business decision to me.

Sione Katoa out for 4-5 months. Stonestreet will get an extended run in FG with a playoff bound side (in all likelihood). It will be his jersey to lose when Katoa comes back.

That's an interesting take but not what I read into it. I just think it's locking in a depth signing so we get closer to knowing exactly what we have to work with salary cap wise for the next couple of seasons.

Pompey should be depth. Everyone’s glazing him because he put a fend on Val Holmes. Who got destroyed multiple times by starford To’a who can barely get a start at the Tigers.

Solid depth but depth only for me, our backline is only threatening in the opposition 20, besides Ali and Rog. we simply just lack the speed.
