I don't think Capewell is likely to leave at all. I'm expecting another year out of him, especially with Marata and Barnett gone. Leka and Laban are both hardly screaming must starters right now - They have a bit of development to go. If you follow social media Capewell is loved off the park by the boys and has been a great fit.

Kayliss is worth holding for sure, but I can see Bishop Neal pushing him back a spot in the next year or 2.

I would guess that if you have a squad that is willing to help and support each other, and accept decisions for the team, that's a powerful thing when everyone buys in to it. Must create some sort of disharmony when one of the squad says that's not him and I'm off to a new club.
I think players at a professional club know that players will be asked to move on or leave of their own accord as its a business at the end of the day. Ever seen a coworker leave for another opportunity because they put their own needs and wants above the team? Did you not want to work with them as a result? Did that person owe the company something? Did they owe ypu something? Its all a transaction.

I think its only the fans or rather some fans who are making this out to be a bigger deal than it is.

All parties involved in the Metcalf drama won out in the end. We ended up retaining Boyd who is probably a better fit as a halfback for the club. Metcalf got to go back to Syd closer to family esp after a newborn, with a bumper contract that he prob didnt envisage when he first signed on for the Warriors. Boyd's persistence and hard work paid off and is now our halfback. We got Metcalf's 900k off our books. Dragons landed some firepower. Chitty extended and solidified his position as our starting 5/8. It woulda been a waste to have all 3 signed up on decent contracts and have our 900k player in reserve grade. What is the actual issue in all this? Whats not to like? We still have Metcalf for this year, and with Boyd out im sure he will want to prove he deserved that contract, esp with a team that is amongst the best in the comp on the ladder right now, as he may never get this opportunity again.

Time to move on and support the players we have and think forward to what we can potentially achieve this year.

Was it worth the effort to get to that tricky ground bro?
There were a couple of shots on TV where the rain became visible and it was hosing down.

Thought of you and all the other die hard legends that went even though the night was crapola.
    In all honesty no lol.
Started off kinda bad when the seats the numbers had worn off so had the situation where people were in our seats but you could just tell there was no way they were moving.
Went with a couple of mates with our kids as a bit of a test run and it wasn’t really the right night for it, the “family zone” was right by the PA speakers so the kids weren’t to keen on the noise.
The main grandstand which is predominantly Dragons members is the only covered seating area at the ground so we ended up standing most of the game huddle under some shelter by the concourse, they had ground staff constantly moving people that were doing the same on.

We actually ended up leaving early as the kids had enough and we wanted to beat the crowds on the trains etc.
I’ve been to Kogarah a couple of times but to be honest it’s not a great stadium and I usually avoid it (like shark park), there’s much better options now with Allianz and Bankwest in particular are great and even the likes of Accor for all its faults has plenty of covered areas to view if the weather turns.
Might try again next week with the Panthers game at a much better stadium.

I cant believe they are not looking at him as a left edge centre!
Linnane could be a revelation at left centre. He gives me real Tom Chester vibes, and Chester has been excellent for the Cowboys. I honestly think him and Leiataua could become a brutal long-term centre pairing for us.

I really don’t think we need to spend big money anymore. The days of hoping some marquee signing is going to come and magically change the club’s fortunes is over. Why pay overs for Australian players when we’ve got so much elite talent coming through the system already? In saying that I would 100% take Joey Manu at fullback I think his game is made for our system.

Ford needs a big upgrade, he's probably a 700-850k prop now.

Watching Tafua yesterday, he looked incredible and probably deserves to move up sooner rather than later. He’s got Egan’s no-look passing and knack for influencing the ruck, combined with absolutely colossal shots in defence, I'm a fan

Just got back from the game, conditions weren’t that evident on TV but they were awful at the ground.
Never going to be a high scoring match under those conditions so people needed to lower those 50 expectations.
Happy with that win, wasn’t pretty but we ground it out and apart from maybe the first 15 mins we didn’t ever look like losing

I think this is the kind of the game i'd personally let wash out. Score looks good, but thats because the dragons are somehow playing below even last place. With a putrid attack, that bearly even punished our errors, injuries or just ill-displine in the ruck.

On the otherside, i think AKP, CHT, TSS, Healey, Taine and JFH (DWZ outside of the errors) all had a pretty great game.
AKP making some insane meters this game (getting close with DWZ but has a lot less runs on the board). Is showing that although he lacked in those effort areas while in the titans. He does not lack that here.
Healey looked awesome as soon as he came on, and reignited the game.
Taine, although diden't have any real highlights this game, his grunt work getting us out of our half has been fantastic.
TSS, pulling off a massive 47 min stint.
JFH with an even bigger 56.
And then ford played for the whole game.

Effort was shown. Which means they at least were never complacent. But fuck it was a dirty win.

Was surprised to see the last post in his thread was June last year. He deserves praise for the way he has come back into form this year and showing that he is one of the great finishers in the game.

Yes he still has some absolute clangers in his game, and his pace may be dropping away, but I’m pleased for the guy that he has clearly worked hard on some of his deficiencies, especially on D, and the noise around him has dropped away.

On a simpler note, he seems like a guy who only brings positive vibes to the team.

My young girls are also big fans due to his hair and acrobatic finishes.

Hope I haven’t jinxed the poor guy, but thought credit where credit is due as I’m sure I heard or read recently how challenging it was for him with all that noise last year. Good on you Dal.

Great news. What a legend! "He’s upset right now but the way he has handled himself this week has been unbelievable. I haven’t seen a player go through an ACL and reconnect with a team so quickly. Tanah has been at training sessions, he has been in our meetings, given his opinion and told Te Maire (Martin) if he needs any reps he’ll help, not physical because he can’t. but mental reps." - Andrew Webster.
