Linnane should be in a good position.

ACL is typically not stronger so more prone to reinjuring again, but the longer the recovery the less likely that is.

Linnane will be over 12 months removed by the time the season starts.

The bigger concern will be Metcalf trying to get back too soon.
Based off when Metcalf did his ACL he should be right for round 4 next season if not earlier if all goes well. He will have to pass certain thresholds and tests before he can fully train so pretty unlikely he comes back 'too soon'. Also I feel like it's more hamstring injuries that have recurrent issues if people try to come back to sport too soon.

Here's a list of some previous rehab times for NRL players for ACL reconstruction I found on reddit:

Peter Wallace with the super human recovery. I wonder if it was the same knee & he actually came back too soon.?
Historically we're really slow, or maybe just cautious. Tohu & Ale didn't play for 10 months & Vaimauga was 9

My opinion is that you cant have CHT and Boyd partnered together. They are just both a bit to vanilla. 4 wins from the last 12 and our play was quite poor - don't think we can continue with this

I think you either have....

Boyd 7 and TMM 6 - they seem to work well together and Dolphins game looked like one of the most fluent as a halves partnership
LM 7 and CHT 6 - I don't think that, despite the early season results, that this is the best option for our overall attack for the team. Some good individual stats but our attack looked clunky for most of the season
LM 7 and TMM 6 - this looks like it might work but its not the optimal position for either of them
TMM 7 and CHT 6 - worked well as a combo last season and I don't think it would be any different now in a stronger performing side. I'd go with this to start the season if Metcalf is still unavailable.
TMM 7 and LM 6 - probably our best combination IMO and was my preferred halves option at the beginning of the season. I think it puts them in the position that best suits them and the team.
Great break down mate. I'm definitely leaning to TMM 7 and Luke 6 with Luke doing majority of long kicking. I don't think CHT is it at all and Boyd, forget it.

TMM is creative in the red zone and you need that.....look at our stats in the red zone....we don't convert many of our chances.

Given how TMM played at 7 last season and how poorly we were playing in attack in those last 12 games this season it surprises me AW only tried him there for the dogs game. May not have made a difference but there was ample evidence that what we were doing with a Boyd/CHT combo wasn't getting us anywhere.
