General Your 2025 team

So 13 for me would be either Barnett, Vaimauga or Ford. With two 80 minute (capable) players in the 11, 12 and 13.
Really you’ve only got 7 interchanges… (always keep one spare)

8. JFH
9. Egan
10. Afoa
11. Capewell
12. Niukore
13. Barnett

14. Walker
15. Clark
16. Vaimauga
17. Healy.

20-25 minutes: Afoa - Walker (1)

25-30 minutes: Egan/JFH -Vaimauga/Healy (3)

50 minutes: Niukore/Vaimauga -JFH/Clark (5) (Barnett moves right edge)

60 minutes: Healy-Egan (6)

68- 70 minutes: that leaves 2 spare interchanges (really it’s 1, you should always have 1 interchange spare, just in case).
To assess who comes on/off
Also depends if we’re winning or not lol.

Atm on field….. (70 minutes)
8. JFH (on since 50 min. 45ish minutes played so far)
9. Egan (on at 60 min, should be fine)
15. Clark (since 50 min, should be fine)
11. Capewell (Started, hopefully plays 80 minutes)
13. Barnett (Started, hopefully plays 80)
14. Walker (20 min, 50 minutes played so far)

10. Afoa
12. Niukore
16. Vaimauga
17. Healy.

Anyone of Walker, Barnett, JFH could come off.
I’d probably go Niukore/Afoa for Walker/JFH

It’s not uncommon for Walker to come off again.

55 minutes is the max I want JFH playing. I don’t want him playing AFB minutes. He typically plays 45-50 at Penrith. Not 60-65 that Webby gave to AFB.
Generally with a 2 hooker rotation you would only want to make 1 sub, eg first hooker for 50 mins and the second to see out the last 30

Having a bench make up that can absolutely change the whole game structure every 20mins is such a critical component within today’s age…
So,can we rotate the talent we have when required…..?

Is Webby this type of coach?

Hasn’t been yet because he has definitely protected & introduced this exceptional youth as needed to ensure 1st grade readiness ….

The old saying: you good enough den your old enough….!!!!!!!
Healy,Leka,Laban,,Dom etc

Being able to change the game structure with X factor & footy IQ constantly is every coach’s holy grail…..

Do we actually have this component at present?
Looks promising famz…..
Will the trigger get pulled this season is the question !!!!

Pretty much nailed it Ko Wai Ra.

Why are people calling TMM world class…..not really
The coach did. And yet won't play him 🤣 when he played 7 last season he was right up there with Hughes statistically

We only have one spot left for this year so what we have is what we have. Cappy needs to get very busy with the 2026 squad

Definitely but in other games he wasn't even sighted especially outside SJ for whatever reason.
I have to repeat myself and make the point that he is a 7 and LM is a 6.
Surely AW can see that
Funny thing with TMM 6 is where he has played most of his games.
Played as five-eighth for the West Tigers in Holden cup. Even named as five-eighth in the team of the year.
Then played for the Junior Kiwis as you guessed it five-eighth.
Played for Penrith at yep five-eighth again
Went to North Queensland and yeah again at five-eighth
Then played for the Kiwis at five-eighth.

Plays for us at five-eighth and it is like he disappears on the field. Plays a couple of good games at 7 and some people think he is the next SJ. Good eyes up play but his kicking is shit. The stats people will go and quote some numbers for his kicks but not watch where he kicked it. Be nice if he remember where he actually started his career.

He was world class when they had that win over Panthers, he kicked 600m, But that stat is one off but he did It!

Our halves are likely to be a problem all year and it will be a big reason why we likely won't make the finals. The top sides are typically settled in their halves or if it's a team that improves they make a change that works out.

It is natural to have a headache replacing someone like Johnson when you have as much doubt over the successor as we have. If we had the next guy running the NSW Cup side for a few years ready and waiting it would be a different story.

They all have their flaws so. Martin can provide some nice touches but can end up disappearing, CHT isn't really a ball player and his running game isn't really a danger. He has heart and could end up a decent organiser. Metcalf has speed and it looked like his ball playing had improved in the trials. Organising is going to be a work on.

Boyd I don't know much about. I've seen him play but didn't pay much attention to him. If he can organise and kick there is an opportunity.

Webster said he won't rush to change the halves. After 6 rounds though If we struggle or due to injury we will likely see every combination.

Outside of the halves we need to get everything else right. We need to get go forward and not just from the outside back carries. The outsides need to make sure they are in formation and supporting. That will help make things easier for the halves.

It’s a rebuild year imo play the youngsters my team, no injuries.
