He might actually give you a better looking bench. Right now you have four forwards on the bench. One back might look just a bit better.
Tactically I have Smith that’s never coming off and will end up with Capewell that will cover the outside backs.
I don’t have the grunt up front of some other teams so will go forward heavy on the bench to give parity.

If you carry a back on the bench, it ideally should be a utility. its very rare that a coach would carry a player who is primarily a winger on the bench, especially in the NRL days of the 4 man bench.
He would be murdered ceremoniously by other contestants if he had a winger on the bench when it came to voting.

In the 2013 rugby league world cup final we played RTS at wing (I think it was 2013) knowing he had a bad leg. We should have played Manu or Jason Nightengale on the bench as cover. RTS got injured on the first tackle and we lost.
The warriors used to play Anthony Gelling on the bench, he was mainly a centre although could cover wing to your point.
No doubt you are correct but few teams carry 4 forwards. Usually there is a hooker or a utility back so his bench looks eye catching.
