Social Wrighty's Player Agent Game Rules posted

Yeah the staggering didn't feel right to me either so I was hoping for feedback. Thank you.

Let's bounce this back and forwards. 800K is too much for any round.

Counter proposal
First 7 rounds 400K
Rounds 8-10 500K
Rounds 11-12 600K

Mr B I am sick at home so have been running game hypotheticals to stress test the rules and my first proposal (500, 750, 1M) was putting too much money into the hands of the roundmaster. We had $400k as the bonus last year and it worked really well and we made a rule on the fly and gave like $800K or even a million to the last guy. I can't remember how much we gave and wish I could remember. If the round master has too much cash, even slightly too much, it will tip the game balance and it won't be fun or fair.
As little as changing it from $500K to $400K should be enough to tip the scales correctly.

I would like to keep it as $400K for as many rounds as possible before lifting.

I have counter proposed the following
Counter proposal
First 7 rounds 400K
Rounds 8-10 500K
Rounds 11-12 600K

My preference would be to actually make the first 8 rounds 400K.
Because this is letter based there will be a spread of talent rather than the good picks going early. However there is advantages to being round master early which are readily apparent in terms of getting off to a good start early.
First 8 at $400k sounds reasonable to me, $500k for 9-11 & $600k for round 12

Yep no probs just clarifying to ensure Hodges Agency does not get short-changed in any way due to low bidders for superstars of the game ;)
Oh I hear you.

That's a good point.

What do I think? Hmmm

I think with 12 contestants the pricing should take care of itself. I think there are 69 in the Hodges stable and only on a handful of occassions will there be a one bid winner.

I think with fewer contestants or a wider pool of options, or if a silent auction like we did with the General Manager game where you were commissioner it would be a different. But this is an open auction.

However nothing is stopping you as Chris Hodges from developing your own guidelines and heuristics for how your meddling will work and maybe you may or may not wish to take the price they paid into account?

Just a reminder I am going to baseline the rules on November 1st so please come to me in the next week or so with any queries,

im happy to take the winning price into account for the randomly generated punishment 'medding' :)

I am a real under dog to win this as I don't know the players on that list of 69, my era was the 1980s where I watched as a youth and then I as you all I know I became an avid NRL fan around 2018. All these people like Craig Wing are a mystery to me. However I do have some advantages in that I invented the game so I might be able to compensate by stitching together a winning strategy. I am doing my homework and preparing as best I can for this Battle Royale.

@Wrighty what about a higher minimum bid price for the generational talent?

Ie minimum of $200k for a current player; minimum of something like $500k for a generational?

Just thinking aloud, haven’t thought it through properly.
is Brett Kimmorley worth $500,000? There are one or two lesser of the generational talent who I don't think are worth that much. But I am ill informed as don't know much about the 69.

Maybe it comes down to exactly what $X is

I think I am against it Wizards as some people will need to do a dirty ballot bid in some rounds where they token bid to meet the requirements and that could get awkward if the minimum bid is $500K for some players
