Social Wrighty presents Forum Sheep game for 2024 - Round 12 Underway

I don't know how to answer this succinctly. Point taken overall. But are you guys all ok if by chance, notwithstanding two rounds per day we finish with a few round masters not getting go twice. Do you understand my point or should i elaborate longer.
What inruin is trying to say is that while selecting a team from a certain era, that is them being the round master(s). Shorting 10 days into 5 days.
I think that could be a fun format.

Because everyone has run out of money or roster spots? Isn't that just the way it falls with individual strategy? And is that a actually a fair deal balancing out the early round masters who got to pick early and with extra cash?

oK you understand. And you have answered my question. Let me stew on this and I will post again in ten minutes with any final questions. But yes this can work I think. After Round 11 with Wizards turn - we then go with double rounds each day.

1) Will it be ok if one round master declares an open auction and one a closed auction?
2) I assume that each contestant will be required to make two bids a day, one for each auction...

Yes to both and the second if they have a spot and a $100k minimum left

My concern was having players available to bid on in both auctions in the same day but defence has answered that with limiting to a year for a nation's test team. Only concern would be the dual test players that have played for tonga or Samoa and NZ or Australia.

I think Wiz is right, wait to the end of the round and maybe it's just easier to do a few wrighty rounds with loose criteria to finish off

Let's pick up the conversation during round 10 and 11 - today is round 8.

I’ve been very busy with work but just want to put out there how much I’m enjoying this game! Gives me a time out from work throughout the day.

Thanks to Wrighty for organising and running this. While we get the fun, he’s got to sort out the game behind the scenes! It’s a big commitment he puts into the forum!

And thanks to the other competitors for taking part and being so good natured. We all get frustrated losing players we want but looking through the squads, they are all coming together nicely.

Hmm...What if one chose a silent auction and one chose an open auction?

It feels from your answer that you have no concerns too much with the idea that some contestants will miss out on being roundmaster in the 2nd round and the inequality of that based on the reason Mr B said (the people to get a turn in the second round deserve compensation for waiting so long for their round master turn). How does that land with you -
I agree with brownstone which is why this works so much better than u taking full control halfway through.
It would still be going with the original reverse snake order which is why I used wiz and boats as the example as they would be going first this time so not to lose any advantage.
As far as picking open or closed that’s no biggie is it? I would’ve liked to do open for mine but done closed so it would suit the group better on nye- who cares- everyone had a chance to chose once in the first round anyway so no one is getting disadvantaged there either.
I would give the two round masters the option to discuss if they want open or closed but if they can’t agree whoever was scheduled to go first originally (wiz in this case) gets final say.

All good. There was some murmurings (attributed to something you said in an earlier post) that there should be some prescriptiveness given to the final round masters in terms of choose a country and year but would input that the round masters should still get to pick their own questions only subject to the current restrictions of 1) More than 17 eligible and available players 2) run it past wrighty first.

You also ok Defence letting us sleep on this for 48 hours and finalising a decision say around round 10ish?

I'm not seeing the issue with the round masters still having to fulfill the opposite auction to what they did in the first round. If that ends up with one closed and one open that will be fine. The biggest issues will be having players potentially available in both auctions on the same day. Defences suggestion would potentially solve that and probably makes it easier to contestants not having to come up with a criteria. Also if there are two open auctions going that could be incredibly confusing keeping track. For another option, Would a single morning auction closing at 1230-100 and an afternoon auction closing 630-700 be an option?

If a player is eligible under both auctions it doesn't matter. It just means that you would need to bid on a mimimum of two players per day funds available.

For example - if Player X is available in both auctions then people would just bid against each for him like normal.

No sorry I don’t get your point- can u elaborate more?
I think u may be misunderstanding my idea because your objections don’t seem to make much sense tbh.

Inruin understood my objection so it did make sense.

Let's park this discussion for a few days as the conversation seems to have an uneasy energy to it.
