Gameday Witzer Pre-Season challenge Dolphins vs Warriors

A lot more to like about that than last week - Boyd was good - would like to see Taine in 6 if we're missing CHT tho. TSS was a monster and playing smart, dominant in the ruck, fast play the ball egan going through several times was beautiful - Ford and Clark got in on teh act too... trying not to be irritated about the bollocks from Aitkens, 'missing' several dirty shots from Flegler, but whetevs

All this attention and yet you seem to not have the various points of pre season trials. Remember when we scorched Melbourne in last year's trial. It went on to mean nothing for the season. There are so many variables in play bro. The loss is not fun but the run is good. The exposure to travel and play.
Nah, Fuck that loser mentality!! You're right tho 🤣

I just can't stand losing lol

So my question still stands? Ffs lol. He didn't have to load the fucking team with all young guys at the end. He could of spread their time on field at different times during the whole game. After all, Pre season or not. The aim of the game is to win is it not?
Because they want to build combinations with players who will be playing together

No point Tannah Boyd and Jack Thompson building combinations before half time when they're unlikely to share the field together in first grade this year.

Bring them all in at once for the last quarter is the norm. Dolphins did the exact same thing.

Dolphins youngins just played alot faster than ours and won the game. We were basically defending the entire final 20.

Gain some match fitness, test combinations, battle test some strategies and find holes/deficiencies the playing group has that was not found out in opposed training. To name a few outside of the fact that the most clubs are not a fan of a formal preseason game like this and that it's mainly for the fans.
Yep and add to the fact rnd 1 starts in Vegas next week.... preseason games will all be forgotten... Its for the coaching team not the fans...

Mate pull your head in.

Webby plays Ford for 60 minutes straight...do you think anyone other than Webby knows what the fuck he's doing with his bench rotations 🤣.
Arguably the poorest part of Webby's coaching plan. The 19 man bench will be interesting - bench use has largely been one of Webby's weaknesses imo and, but as the 19 man bench is a bit of an unknown at this stage, if he is able to get the strategy right so his bench becomes a strength, it could be something that really drives us into the finals.
I think most teams will catch up by saying half way through the year or so, so the first few months will be key. I think Webby's quite a smart customer so really keen to see how this goes

Not really worried with the end result. The first graders were really good though! Kind of reminded me of the 2023 team how they ran shape especially the variety of passing confused the hell out of the Dolphins!

Morgan Gannon is looking really handy! Mid season (baring injury) he could be a difference for the season. Luke Hansen I like him! He really works well with Tanah Boyd.

I’m hoping we surprise the competition again this year! The roller coaster for 2026 begins now!

Pull my head for wanting my team to win? Let me sulk. I'll get over it.

Good trial, not too fussed about the finish. We had no edge combinations and the middle boys were too reactive rather than proactive in defence.

Nothing to worry about when you look how many little bodies were out there for the finish, looked like our midget side.
I think there are some things to worrie about and again its the right edge defense, DWZ And Ali Leiataua could leak a ton of points each week.

I think we lacked any intensity in that first half, it wasn't until the kids came on that we sparked.

I really dont give a shit about the result tonight, but the imagine what DCE, can do down our right edge is scary.

Ali Leiataua was fucken Awful on D tonight!

Honestly don’t know what I just watched. Who the hell were these Warriors?
Players I wasn’t sure about looking like seasoned first graders.
Praise be Tannah
Praise be Gannon
Praise be Hanson
Still got a couple of drop kicks out there but whatever we did between this week and last needs to be bottled and sold.
Praise be your eyesight
