First graders gave me a bit more hope after last week. Juniors looked a little less likely than last week.
Pretty much expecting more of the same this year and not sure many will break into the top side. Perhaps Mellars or Lofi and perhaps Gannon as a bench spot, the rest largely as is.
Hope the NSW cup halves kick on this year there’s a bit to like there finally

I can see why Mellars was never given a run at the bunnies, even with all their injuries. He’s big but he’s not strong in contact or evasive or quick

id probz put Pasikala ahead of him as at least with him he is stronger in contact.

Ye I like Ali heaps but I’d be putting Kali there too, we need someone in the backline who can create something out of nothing.

I still have tickets on the Ali train at centre. If he's not injured by round 10 I reckon he'll be going anywhere on the awesome scale between sufficient and monster.

Only a trial game and trying to work out combinations. For me the biggest let down was the lazy defence from the "Markers", just standing and watching, also no killer instinct in the tackle, hence so many off-loads.
The young ones were exhausted by the speed of the game but will get better.
Always been a Pomps fan but he really had a shocker.
Overall I am sure we are top six this year.
Love my team.

Injuries and form have hurt his prospects. He and Rocco need to stay on the field. Need one of the stats experts to comment on Leiataua's injuries and games missed. I'm sure he's had a fair amount of leg issues

From what I saw of Ali last night he looks like he has strengthened up. Particularly in the legs

This being true does not negate our lack of quality durable available centres. He is lacking consistent enough game time over the length of his career to gather from. I back him to start game one and stay in the team until form, injury or the mighty Berry returns. Basically, we need him.

We need his attack, we can't afford his defence. It's a dilemma.

Problem is he was partnered up with DWZ. Who as experienced as he is. Is as bad as Ali defensively.
Maybe putting Pomps over on Dallins side and Roger with Ali who is a better on feild talker than Dallin is. Will help with the defensive issues. A little bit? Lol

Maybe it’s just all these 18 year olds at other clubs looking like absolute stars. Mellars hasn’t even made a tackle break in 2 trial games.
