Webster explained it. Leka was coming back on after HIA (free interchange) and no spots available in second row so reshufffed backline and took taine out - no injury/no hook. Just poor planning. Obviously he didnt say the last part aloud.

Wow that blew any chance of a comeback, Barney should be propping with fish instead of TSS, leka left edge and TT ball play, instead leka did an old dallin and gave them the match winner

And this the type of game I’d give Egan 80min to have any chance to get out of jail

Seemed a bit of a Webby special this week.

Far too many changes if it's true they only had one training session during the week.

Metcalf coming in was a positive move.

But to drop Ali, move CNK, bring Taine in was just too many changes. Thought Ali had done enough to keep his spot.

Something isn't sitting right with wanting to have both CNK & TT in the run on side, I don't see room for both.

The better play for the moment is to have TT on the bench as back cover or 'zip' if needed.

Told many a Tigers fan, eat up the $4.25. We are and still are the worst short priced favourites to have ever existed.

Led 10-0 and the whole team were guilty of putting the cue in the rack, watching the game in Tiger town was humiliating.

I’ve not seen a more inept and incompetent performance in a long time. Positive = we stop reading our own hype?!?!

The team as a whole were flat and in general just pretty pathetic.

There isn't a coach around who would make their highest paid half play reserve grade first before coming back into first grade.

He was coming back in as soon as he was ready.

I have said it before. Webster is still learning to be a fg coach
Hope he gets the message

That first 20mins or so I thought Charnze was on a mission, i wanna see more of him there.

Don't think Boyd did too much wrong. Mets was underdone.... to be expected.... It will click sooner than later.
So anyone know what happened with Leiataua ? Named as captain of the cup team so not really a demotion but then you get Charnze doing that nfl safety celebration after his try ... which Ali is known for pulling, more appropriately, after a big tackle. I know Webby explained it by wanting to bring Taine in ... i just reckon the whole thing was one of those big brain moments that overthinkers like Webster have every once in a while and it's probably what lost us the the game tbh ... not because of not having Ali there - rather Charnze at the back is what we needed as the safety switch on having Mets coming in

I think it was just one of those nights!

Shit weather all week, a ton of changes and some I think were unnecessary.

I don't think Ali needed to be in cup just yet, he was building nicely. CNK should have been retained at FB. We were just largely ineffective in a lot of areas.

I also do think webby didn't read that game as effective. Flogging Ford because he can should not be that plan, he could have pulled ford earlier when TSS was showing us he was up for it, so was niukore for that matter.

Pompey, I'll just put that down to baby brain, becoming a father for the first time effects people in many different ways. I just dont think his head is in the game at the moment.

Metcalf i think was doing too much kicking for my liking, I really thought his role should have been far less than what he was trying last night.

Onwards and upwards. Man I hope we land warbrick. I would even start thinking about Mellars.

And this is why those of us who have been here for 30 years are quietly amused by the enthusiasm of new members after a couple of wins.
We actually do have PTSD. And grey hair and trembling hands.
Beaten by a better team tonight. It should never have been possible.
But we are The Warriors
It's going to be a busy week for Webby
Don't lose and you can't learn

Thanks very much Tajhay I really wanted to know this. I picked him in my fantasy team for one reason, and another because I want him to be persevered with and now it may look like CNK goes back to fullback after a 60 minute experiment, but hopefully not hooked like you say; but still ranked lowly for Webster to value putting Leka at centre above Taine at fullback.

Same old shit, funny how there’s pages and pages of bleating after a loss and less posts when we get a win. Almost like it brings some out. Fair enough to be disappointed but perspective is important, it is disappointing though, tigers took on the same mindset as raiders last year who came over hostile. Reading the posts of a 50 point win in the game thread gave me cause for concern and John Nick was one of the few realistic that anyone can knock anyone over on any day. One or two observations for me was Ford still has that mistake in him at critical times as good as he’s been and Boyd missing another pressure kick that would put us in scoring distance. Tough to single them out though with many under par, Laban and JFH amongst the better though I thought
Yeah there is a bunch of wounded embittered fans that only show up for a funeral never for a Wedding for sure.

Good for the Website and good for the lols, I get a pervy kick out of all the wailing and gnashing of teeth.

My favorite are dudes having a go at Webster - now that is unequivacal "I know better than a top NRL" coach NZ Man disease (excuse the sexism but it tends to be blokes that get it).

Marry that up with a refusal to acknowledge that the Tigers played one of their best games, we played one of our worst - and for mine if that is one of our worst this year then I am pretty confident we are gonna get far.

The best thing about that game is no critical players were injured, in that regard the Warriors NRL medicos are yet again vindicated in their flagging of readiness to play.

it's good to get the first loss out of the way. This doesn't erase the last 3 weeks which were great. But it also does bring to the fore we are far from the finished product. Most annoying part of this is we have just given the Aussie haters a reason to get out all their takes on how we are pretenders again. They've been waiting all month for our first loss.
I wouldn't worry about the Aussie haters, the Warriors fans out number them and cry louder, longer, and have surprisingly good harmonies. Reminds me of old African American (they were called something else in their era I am not allowed to say rhymes with ego) as I was saying, this place reminds me of old A.American spirituals "No body know's the trouble I've seen, but Jesus"....

Keep singing, this place loves site traffic thanks for your attendance....next Choir Practice Sunday 5th April 6pm ish after game day thread closes.

I read that Stacey said Metcalf was ready for round 1 so technically he was "ready".

I think the lesson was spoken about before game 3 vs Newy when both Laban and Niukore I think spoke about "NOT GETTING COMPLACENT BECAUSE ITS A LONG SEASON". *Disclaimer. My capital letters are for emphasis not to indicate an increase in volume.
Yes...sigh....but this is all very vexing. I have it on good Authority that Forum Doctors had a different schedule, wait till round six because that is wot it said on facebook - then test him in NSW cup for an indeterminant number of games first.

Wot does indeterminant mean? No body know's but it is believed to be a non researched based cutting edge new branch of science called F.O.P.F.M.A (stands for Fan opinion pulled from my arse) invented by Professor Forumicus Madeupicus - Phd - FRACS - OBE - NZWCOM.
